PA to MD, Head of Business Management – 12 month mat cover
Location – Canary Wharf, London


This is a chance to provide excellent Personal Assistant (PA) support to the Managing Director Head of Business Management. You’ll provide comprehensive support to the Director Head of Performance, Governance and MI and support the smooth running of the Business Management teams through effective planning, and the implementation of effective processes.

This is a full time 12 month maternity cover role starting late April. 

What will you be doing?
Control, manage and prioritise diary, reminding Manager of future commitments/matters requiring attention.  Make appointments, travel, accommodation and itineraries under own initiative.
Organise a wide range of meetings and functions at internal/external venues
Liaise with management and staff regarding a wide range of ongoing matters. Monitor, progress and ensure all actions and paperwork are coordinated in preparation for meetings in line with deadlines.
Compile agendas, prepare briefs, and attend a wide variety of meetings.
Prepare correspondence, reports and other documentation including PowerPoint presentations, where terms may be technical and complex and urgent deadlines will have to be met.  Apply formatting, spelling, punctuation and grammar as appropriate.
Co-ordinate quarterly Reputation Risk meetings, liaising with senior stakeholders
Maintain distribution lists and Holiday Charts for Business Management Team
Maintain complete and accurate HR records (sickness, holidays and other); ensure training materials are kept up to date and accurate
Manage the processes for joiners and leavers in accordance with HR procedures

What we’re looking for:
Strong PA experience at D and/or MD level
Experience of working with budgets, raising Purchase Orders and liaising with suppliers
Experience of and comfortable liaising with senior stakeholders
Ability to demonstrate excellent correspondence standards and administrative procedures
Complex planning experience and ability to coordinate large meetings and events

DevOps Role sought by luxury travel operator.

Contract type: ideally permanent 40-65k

Our Client is a luxury travel operator developing an Artificial-Intelligence-as-a-Service solution for the next generation of leisure. Their full-stack platform is cloud agnostic, highly scalable, and built on patented award-winning and world-leading optimisation algorithms. They utilise cutting-edge technology in IoT, Big Data, AI and ML to maximise user experience and accessibility, improve productivity and minimise environmental impact for our clients. The Role:

Reporting to the CTO, you will carry out agreed operational procedures, including network configuration, installation and maintenance of IT infrastructure for SaaS products. You will support technical review and have a passion to design, develop and implement digital solutions to be deployed at scale. Within this role you will be expected to serve 2nd/3rd line IT functions and support R&D project at the infrastructure level in the areas of IoT, Big Data, Cloud, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Our ideal candidate will be familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment. Ultimately, the role of the IT administrator is to build and deliver IT infrastructure working closely with Software Development teams, in a genuine DevSecOps environment.

Responsibilities:

. Developing, planning and implementing release management to support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)

. Monitoring and managing appropriate access levels to various environments, ensuring a restrictive security model for access to the environments

. Build prototypes and pilots to prove concepts.

. Control and monitor the application life cycle of software-based platform and products (eg, Controlling gated release mechanism)

. Solve technical problems across multiple technologies, developing new methods if required.

. Contribute to a diverse range of assignments for both internal and external clients, including bidding for new work.

. Contribute and manage knowledge sharing within the company and across related communities.

. Use network management tools to collect and report on network load and performance statistics.

Experience:

. 2+ years of experience in AWS/GCP/Azure is essential

. Working with Agile Methodologies eg, Scrum or Kanban

. Strong background in Windows/Linux/Unix Administration (ideally via ADAM, Active Directory, LDAP, ADFS)

. Strong experience with SQL and MSSQL/MySQL (NoSQL experience is a plus, too)

. Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Ansible, SaltStack, Power Shell, Terraform or equivalent (ideally, blending with software development practices like version control, along the lines of IaaC, etc.) along with containers (docker) and container management (eg, via Kubernetes)

. Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (eg, Azure, AWS, BlueMix, Holmes etc.)

. A working understanding of code and script (Python, Java and JavaScript)

. Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service (ideally, ITIL certified) including monitoring tools like Kibana, Grafana, PowerBI or equivalent

. Knowledge of Windows enterprise ecosystem (office 365, sharepoint, power BI, TFS, etc), Servers, Networking, HyperV/VMWare

. Qualification in Computer Science (or equivalent) to degree or masters level.

. Written and verbal communication to present complex concepts to multi-disciplinary teams.

What will you be doing?

Create/maintain automated dashboard to support quality view of the application under test 
Execute automated/manual tests as required
Assist Automation Lead in managing day-to-day test Automation activities, such as test monitoring and status reporting at the end of the testing day

High coding standards to support future proving of the framework & test scripts 
Ensure constructive working relationships within team
Execute tests, track and monitor defects to closure
Increase coverage of Automation packs and pass rate in the Release Testing cycle as instructed by the Automation Lead


What we’re looking for:

Experience with Java and other automated testing frameworks. 
Experience in using SQL or other similar Database management systems

As a JavaScript Developer you will be responsible for:

  • Participate in an agile based software development life cycle including technical analysis, documentation, development, testing and code reviews
  • Collaborate with the production support team for release and maintenance of the components
  • Work closely with the other developers in determining and following best development and architecture practice
  • Propose and provide feedback from experience/knowledge on architecture, design, technology choices and technology direction of the platform
  • Fully participate in requirement and design meetings for new functionality
  • Develop reference implementations and documentation for platform features
  • Moderate and review development contributions from the development community

What we require from the candidate:

  • At least 8 years software development experience in an enterprise environment
  • Strong development skills and experience with JavaScript
  • Experienced with TypeScript and CSS.
  • Strong development skills and experience with the common Javascript Libraries and other Web Technologies
  • Front Office development experience in any of: FX, FX Options, Interest Rates Products is desirable but not essential
