Are you a Network Engineer bored with seeing the usual advert asking for CCNA this, CCNP that? You must have 'x' years across working with Routers, Switches, Firewall, VPN and on and on...? Well, if you are, we might just have something slightly different for you!
We are partners to an AWS software house who provide cloud-based solutions to a number of industries (think retail, hospitality, medical/pharmaceutical) who utilise their real-time solutions. Their user-base spans the breadth and depth of the UK with some very big household names, chances are you will have experienced some of their real-world solutions very frequently! They are an advanced user of AWS services with a range of projects in the pipeline. This role will be aimed at ensuring their network is available 24/7 and is capable of what their clients expect from their platform now, and in the future through using a mixture of cloud services. This will be achieved through working on the administration, development, troubleshooting and maintenance of their current Network and Communications infrastructure.
Significant experience in the form of Network administration, monitoring, troubleshooting and ultimately support will be needed for someone to thrive in this position. Exact qualifications are not as important as real-world experience (the first line does apply!) however any Cisco certification would, of course, be great to see. Firewall, server configuration and maintenance should also form part of your repertoire together with experience with a number of different network monitoring and diagnostic tools. Number of years served is not necessarily as important and where and how you have used your skills. Did we mention they were an AWS house? Whilst prior experience with AWS isn't needed, it would carry your profile to the top of the pile! If this has ever been of interest to you, this presents a great opportunity to gain this exposure.
As this company provide their solutions to a number of critical industries, 24/7 provision will be expected on a rota system - 1 in every 5/6 weeks is the normal. The company enjoy a social culture which will see you out with the team regularly and one where progression is a normal part of their vocabulary. We are interested to hear from interested parties at all levels, if this sounds like you, please get in touch.
