An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading UK professional services organisation. Joining a small team, working as an IT Infrastructure & Applications Manager in excellent corporate surroundings.

The role involves the management of 3 IT Support individuals, and working with the outsourced managed service provider. Ensuring the infrastructure is running smoothly, ready for growth, and architected in the best interests of the firm. You'll also be working with them in accordance to the vendor support matrix. - Responsible for Data Centre Infrastructure, Security and IT services across multiple offices, facilitating stable delivery of IT services

- Ensuring all Infrastructure and Legal Applications are updated in accordance to vendor releases and security

- Working with the Head of IT, supporting the selection of Hardware, Software and support providers, including assisting with infrastructure strategy and design

- Ensuring there are Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity procedures in place, and continually reviewed and tested

- Keeping up to date with the world of IT, possibly using your knowledge to implement new ideas and strategies

Working with agile product development teams, you will become a Subject Matter Expert for business applications providing advice, functional and operational support.

Tech Skills required:

  • SQL
  • Logging tools (ie Papertrail & datadog), able to create alerts
  • AWS knowledge (basic)
  • Javascript (basic understanding)
  • Github/source control
  • CI/CD pipelines (understanding needed to debug, not create them)
  • Powershell scripting
  • Nice to have: Linux knowledge, More advanced AWS knowledge (docker, Kubernetes etc…), Salesforce admin, Power BI.

We're looking for someone to…

  • Take ownership of incidents and problems escalated to the team.
  • Engineer solutions to complex IT issues using automation, debugging and collaboration with developers.
  • Update documentation
  • Engage with major incident and problem managers
  • Engage with stakeholders across the business to better identify and resolve issues.
  • Manage communication around incidents using Service Now, Slack, Jira etc...
  • Monitor the application ecosystem and carry out routine health checks;
  • Suggest improvements to monitoring and alerting capabilities.
  • Influence strategy for the applications team & be an extension of the agile product teams.

You'll need…

  • Experience in a user-facing role, supporting multiple business applications in a mission critical environment.
  • An understanding of application platforms, business rules and data flows through systems.
  • An analytical mind, excellent problem-solving & diagnostic skills, attention to detail.
  • Strong Communication skills; can present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of SLAs/OLAs, Agile and ITIL processes
  • Experience working with cross functional teams

There is a shift based system between 8am and 7pm Monday - Friday and an on call rota 24/7. Each staff member will be on call one week in every seven.

In addition to a £45,000 salary and a £2,000 on-call allowance, you will also receive a 75% discount on your London underground travel. A comprehensive benefits package including a generous pension, and hugely discounted travel for both work and play. Huge scope for your career development and training.
