Job Overview:

We are looking for a senior Business Analyst/Project Manager to join the global Equities Market Data BA/PM team which consists of resources across primary locations in London, Belfast, New York, Toronto, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Pune. 

This is a fast paced, challenging and growing area of the investment bank. The Equities business has set an ambitious growth plan, and strong technical capability is critical to achieving our goals and enhancing our leading position in the financial market. 

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to work within the Equities Technology group and work closely with a front-office business unit and established technology teams as they build & roll out the next generation of market data technology across asset classes via a strategically important platform.

The core focus of this role will be on the Global Market Data Platform, and the primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to work on detailed business analysis, project & program management of our Market Data program globally, which is part of our One Execution program. The successful candidate will report into the Global Connectivity & Market Data BA/PM lead. Focus area will include end to end management of Market Data initiatives including rollout of new market data API’s, re-architecture of existing infrastructure across globe, migration of setup with data-centres, coordination and governance with other application teams on exchange mandatory project, and management and coordination of vendors and suppliers of software and hardware products.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all technology components of diverse, moderately complex IT projects, including data analysis, requirements gathering and documentation, project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality and cost.
  • Communicates with end-users to provide timely and accurate information and status updates.
  • Contributes to formulation of strategies for IT project leadership and other functional areas.
  • Directly impacts the IT project leadership area through responsibility for delivery of end results and shared responsibility for budget management; accountable for resource planning.
  • Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards.
  • Persuades and influences others through communication and diplomacy skills; may negotiate with external parties.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • Test co-ordination, across multiple areas, products, regions with project and QA counterparts.
  • Providing effective communications for all key aspects of project delivery.
  • Reporting project statuses, next steps and issues/risks to stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Assist in the improvement and re-engineering of existing workflows and processes. 
  • Assisting Equity IT in their ongoing support of workload priority conflicts and dependencies.
  • Ensuring that Equities successfully deliver their regulatory commitment
  • This will require frequent interaction with people at many levels of the organization and across multiple departments including Front & Middle Office, Finance, Compliance & Technology, and other asset classes internally.

Qualifications & Skillset (Required/Desirable)

  • Previous roles as a BA/Project Manager, ideally within the Financial Services/Investment Banking industry.
  • Experience in assisting or delivering change projects, ideally related to financial regulation.
  • Proven project management experience
  • Conversant with MS Office, PM tools (MS Project, PTS), Visio and SQL 
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills, willingness to ask questions, challenge the process and seek out answers
  • Ability to manage project delivery with tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes.
  • Highly organized with the capability of working with a large number of regional and global teams.
  • Good communicator and strong inter-personal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate confidently at all levels of the business. 
  • Self-motivated with an enthusiastic and proactive approach. Confident to work independently and can work effectively with business and IT subject matter experts.
  • Detail oriented with a passion for maintaining standards. Also has an aptitude for digesting and interpreting regulations in order to provide guidance and direction to both business and IT stakeholders.
  • Team player in a solid/matrix reporting organization but with ability to work independently, multi-task, take ownership and drive strategy
  • Educated to degree standard 
  • Experience of managing successful software projects/programs of a highly complex nature according to Agile Methodology
  • Experience of capital markets technology and market data desirable

And while it's not essential, it would be great if you can bring:

  • Experience with D3.js, PixiJS or other visualisation libraries
  • Some experience using build tools such as Grunt, Gulp or Webpack
  • Working knowledge of testing tools such as Jasmine or Selenium
  • Previous experience using Sass, Git, Chef, Docker and Jenkins
