A successful and leading business who research, develop and manufacture complex machinery in-house are looking for a Technical Director to take the reins and lead the company into a new era of development and growth with multiple new projects in the pipeline.

As Technical Director you'll be responsible for multiple aspects of the business and will need a solid understanding of manufacturing and distribution along with production and supply chain. You will be an integral part of this SME business taking it forward as the current MD looks to take a step back with a succession plan in place.

You will need to be able to exploit your experience at a senior level to drive continuous improvement. You will be reviewing company strategy in all areas so overall management of expenditure will be expected of you.

Skills required for the position:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior management capacity within Manufacturing/ production environment.
  • MBA Qualification
  • Expert in manufacturing practices and business improvements
  • Experience working within a manufacturing organisation
  • High level commercial and strategic ability coupled with technical knowledge
  • Be able to show authoritative leadership at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Relevant engineering degree
  • Entrepreneurial skill set

This role will suit you if you are strategically focused with technical knowledge and proven success in leading innovation and production management. You must have excellent commercial awareness and be capable of communicating at all levels within the business.

Salary will be dependent upon what value you can bring to the business but as a guideline something in the region of £60,000 - £80,000 + bonuses and benefits package.

There is a mid - long term opportunity to take shares in the business and progress into the Managing Directors seat over the next 3 - 5 years and as such this position will likely be suited to someone with an entrepreneurial skill set.
