In Global Data, you will apply your problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, implement technical solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes, build relationships with key players in the financial market by providing exceptional client support, and manage the financial data that feeds the Bloomberg Terminal.

The Role:
Data Analysts possess a unique combination of technical skills and business acumen, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. They use these skills to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to provide timely, accurate, and comprehensive data to our clients. They also play a key role in evolving our products and processes, which makes the role challenging and entrepreneurial.

We'll trust you to:
  • Utilise a variety of software solutions to extract and rationalise data to Bloomberg taxonomies
  • Analyse internal processes to identify opportunities for improvement, as well as devise and implement innovative solutions
  • Implement business rules for programmatic data validation by codifying market conventions and/or data relationships
  • Design and manage workflow configurations for critical functions such as acquisition, worklist management, and quality control
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by generating ideas to improve our data products and/or associated processes and building prototypes to validate and illustrate requirements
  • Lead ad hoc projects to optimize processes and/or improve the quality of the data set         
  • Utilise statistics and data visualization skills to report on results of on-going operations and projects, as required           
  • Build subject matter expertise and technical skills to generate premium content, including data-driven news stories
  • Partner with a wide variety of stakeholders from Engineering to Sales on product development
  • Provide in-depth customer support for users of Bloomberg products such as the Professional Service, News, Enterprise Solutions, and Bloomberg Law by resolving inquiries in a timely manner

You'll need to have:
  • A bachelor's degree, preferably with combined studies in Information Systems and Finance, or related business and STEM fields
  • Fluency in English and Russian
  • Strong passion for data, technology and finance
  • Demonstrated project or work experience using one more programming language such as Python, SQL and R
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding and experience of statistics and data modeling
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of demonstrated decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and collaborate with others

We'd love to see:

As a Data Specialist you will play a critical role in ingesting and analysing data, managing workflow processes to solve client problems, and providing superior customer service. This may include monitoring industry events and executing upon a variety of projects aimed at improving the timeliness, accuracy, and quality of our data. Data Specialists also provide support for internal and external clients that consume the data so you will be required to collaborate with multiple teams across the firm, which makes the role diverse and provides an opportunity for continuous learning.

We'll trust you to:
  • Extract and rationalise data to Bloomberg taxonomies in accordance with established methodologies
  • Manage projects to optimize processes and/or improve the quality of our data products
  • Perform quality control to ensure data accuracy by inspecting Bloomberg data values and comparing them to source documents
  • Provide customer support for users of Bloomberg products such as the Professional Service, News, Enterprise Solutions, and Bloomberg Law by resolving inquiries in a timely manner  
  • Procure content to support best-in-class coverage of the data set  
  • Codify market conventions and/or data relationships into business rules for data validation 
  • Perform incident management, from troubleshooting and root cause analysis to overall problem management 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by generating ideas to improve the data products and/or associated processes
  • Participate in ad hoc projects to optimize processes and/or improve the quality of the data set         
  • Report on results of on-going operations and projects, as required            
  • Utilise subject-matter-expertise to set and maintain methodologies for data management

You'll need to have:
  • A bachelor's degree preferably in Finance or Economics
  • Fluency in English and a main European language or Russian, Turkish, Hebrew or Japanese. The specific language required will be subject to business needs and will be confirmed in due course.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Applications, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with data processing paradigms and associated tools and technologies           
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of demonstrated decision-making and problem solving skills

  • Join our team in the London EMEA headquarters, where you are depended upon to provide fast and accurate solutions to incoming client queries. The support we give to clients is a key aspect of Bloomberg's value proposition and you will play a critical role here.
  • Partake in our comprehensive training program, covering all aspects of the financial markets: economic principles, market players and asset classes - while teaching you all there is to know about the functionality and analytical tools Bloomberg has to offer.
  • Upon a successful period in Analytics, you'll have the platform to further your career across the company. The majority of Analytics members take up opportunities within our Enterprise Sales team.

Analytics
  • We provide 24/7 support for Bloomberg Professional Service users all over the world and across multiple industries. Reaching us via our 'Instant Bloomberg' chat system, clients access unparalleled customer service where we answer their questions and help them maximise the value of Bloomberg.
  • We're a calm voice in a busy, volatile market. Our clients rely on us to support them in making better, faster decisions using the power of Bloomberg Professional Services. On any given day we respond to over 12,000 queries in more than 15 languages. From educating a portfolio manager on Bloomberg's risk management solutions to helping a trader discover new sources of market liquidity - the variety of problems we solve is immense.
  • Bloomberg is constantly innovating and Analytics plays a key role in ensuring clients are educated on new products and enhancements by proactively reaching out to upskill clients through technology, on-site training and seminars. We also work in conjunction with Enterprise Sales to deliver on strategic initiatives, supporting product roll-out and onboarding clients. We want to ensure our clients are making the most of our service and using tools and features that allow them to work smarter.

Sales
  • In Sales, we're the face of Bloomberg for our clients. Consultative and entrepreneurial, we're responsible for managing client relationships, whilst striving to continually grow our revenue by identifying new business opportunities.
  • We spend our time with our clients, understanding their business goals and outpacing their expectations. Guided by curiosity and purpose, we work to understand their workflows and advise on the most appropriate solutions across our range of enterprise offerings. We work in a rapidly changing market and to be successful, it's crucial we stay one step ahead, knowing our customers and presenting them with ground breaking solutions before they even know they need them.
  • Colleagues from across the company depend on us to communicate new solutions. We're discovering new business leads by making prospecting calls and networking. We demonstrate how Bloomberg will help our clients make the best investment/trading/business decisions, making their day to day business smoother and more profitable.

You need to have:
  • The ability to join a training class on a full time permanent basis in 2020. We hold various training classes throughout the whole year.
  • The successful candidate must be able to speak German in addition to English.
  • A Bachelor's degree (or above) or relevant work experience
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • A demonstrable interest in financial markets and the aspiration to work in the financial services industry
  • The resilience to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
  • Real ambition to pursue a client-facing career, with a strong interest in relationship management and sales

Bloomberg Data Specialist - Hebrew Speaker
Bloomberg runs on data, and in the Global Data team we're responsible for acquiring it and providing it to our clients. We collect, analyse, process and publish the data which is the backbone of our iconic Bloomberg Terminal- the facts and figures which ultimately move the financial markets. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes- and all this while providing platinum customer support to our clients.

The Role:
As a Data Specialist you will play a critical role in ingesting and analysing data, managing workflow processes to solve client problems, and providing superior customer service. This may include monitoring industry events and executing upon a variety of projects aimed at improving the timeliness, accuracy, and quality of our data. Data Specialists also provide support for internal and external clients that consume the data so you will be required to collaborate with multiple teams across the firm, which makes the role diverse and provides an opportunity for continuous learning.

We'll trust you to:
  • Extract and rationalise data to Bloomberg taxonomies in accordance with established methodologies
  • Manage projects to optimize processes and/or improve the quality of our data products
  • Perform quality control to ensure data accuracy by inspecting Bloomberg data values and comparing them to source documents
  • Provide customer support for users of Bloomberg products such as the Professional Service, News, Enterprise Solutions, and Bloomberg Law by resolving inquiries in a timely manner  
  • Procure content to support best-in-class coverage of the data set  
  • Codify market conventions and/or data relationships into business rules for data validation 
  • Perform incident management, from troubleshooting and root cause analysis to overall problem management 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by generating ideas to improve the data products and/or associated processes
  • Participate in ad hoc projects to optimize processes and/or improve the quality of the data set         
  • Report on results of on-going operations and projects, as required            
  • Utilise subject-matter-expertise to set and maintain methodologies for data management

You'll need to have:
  • A bachelor's degree preferably in Finance or Economics
  • Fluency in English and Hebrew
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Applications, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with data processing paradigms and associated tools and technologies           
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of demonstrated decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and collaborate with others

  • Client-focused mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a frequently changing environment

We'd love to see:
