Delphi Developer - 3 Month Contract - Southampton

Your Role:

As an experienced Delphi Developer you will bring your knowledge and experience to a growing team developing retail solutions aiming to be at the forefront of the sector. As a contractor this is your chance to have a major impact on the positive growth of a development team, with your role including;

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
  • Deliver high quality functional software
  • Collaborate with the team to prepare designs, estimates and functional specifications.
  • Participate in Agile based meetings to ensure iterations are well defined, planned and delivered.
  • Investigate software/system faults and devise solutions to these problems.
  • Review team & iteration performance to identify improvements to future deliveries.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and develop changes

About You:

As a Delphi Developer, your experience, skills and knowledge will include;

  • Experience of software development using Delphi
  • A keen interest in how software is designed and implemented to fit in with modern practices and the ability to write clear well-maintainable code.
  • Knowledge of BDE, Paradox and interfacing Delphi with COM objects
  • Knowledge of the Borland VCL and RTL (Application rights and installation of Delphi 7 on Windows 10)
  • Some experience working with C# using SOLID principles or a good understanding of how to apply them

Backend Software Developer - Node.JS - £100 to £120k+

We are working with a company for a Global media brand, which is a real heavyweight in the industry. The platform is a large hand-coded enterprise scales system built on JavaScript, Node.JS with Data Science at the heart of it all. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp on Full-Stack engineering skills with a focus on Back End Node.JS development and Algorithms.

As an organisation they share ownership of the design through to the delivery of the products. They prototype and experiment with new technologies and they use peer review to ensure the solution is maintainable. They are a group of passionate engineers whose bread and butter is learning new technologies and fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. They will support you and provide training when you want to change team or work on a different project. The wide variety of projects they have will allow you to advance your career within the company.

The Backend Software Developer will need:

  • Algorithms
  • System level programming
  • Middleware, including but not limited to: queueing systems, memory management, inter-process communications, multi-threading
  • Our development environment is Node JS/Typescript, these are big pluses, but back-end skill sets and mind set are key, and thus we will consider talented back-end engineers with C/C++, Java, etc
  • NoSQL DBs, ElasticSearch, Redis, MemcaCached, rtc.
  • Expertise in Elastic Search is a big plus
  • Machine learning is a big plus
  • An advanced degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field is a plus, but not essential
  • A background in architecture and design
  • Performance tuning and optimisation
  • Relational and non-relational DB’s

We are supporting a Global Organisation in Central London to secure a Solution Architect / Sitecore Architect to support them with a global implementation of Sitecore. This will involve consulting with Senior Stakeholders through to Director Level and will require the gravitas to influence and manage difficult stakeholders from a range of cultures and backgrounds.

If you are an experienced Solution Architect with experience of CMS and Sitecore within consultative engagements in recent years and a broad understanding of the role an Architecture function plays across an organisation; then this would be an incredibly good match.

Expertise required:

  • Excellent skills in combining business and technology
  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate key messages very clearly
  • Openness to work with different languages & cultures
  • Previous experience within Architecture roles

Expertise to deliver:
