Data Scientist

My client based in Cardiff are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to provide assistance on a critical project for the next 6 months (Outside of IR35)

Role: Data Scientist
Rate: £500 - £600 a day
Location: Cardiff
Duration: 6 Months
Status: Outside of IR35

Overview
An advanced degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or similar
Experience working as a Data Scientist on complex marketing, operations or commercial projects
Fluency in Python or R
A good understanding of big data packages like Hadoop and Spark
Knowledge of Machine Learning libraries would be advantageous (Tensorflow, Keras, Pytorch, SK-learn etc)

What will you be doing??

Reed Professional Services are looking for a DevOps Engineer who has with in-depth knowledge of cloud based infrastructure design and delivery within an Agile environment which includes Scrum and Kanban. This role is to work mainly on the design, development and maintenance of a new deployment within an AWS environment.

Experience: - We require an experienced DevOps Engineer with previous AWS experience, Containerisation using docker, knowledge of software development.

Skills:

  • Proven commercial experience of working on scalable, reliable AWS infrastructure.

  • Considerable experience of AWS technologies including Codepipeline, Codebuild and CodeDeploy.

  • Experience with Docker.

  • Knowledge of AWS Secret Manager.

  • Proven experience working within agile environments including Scrum/Kanban.

  • Knowledge of software development- Java and Scala.

  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Evidence of being able to adapt in changing environments in large organisations.

You will be responsible for multiple deliverables, as agreed within individual sprints definer by the team Scrum Master. These tasks include;

A Head of IT Transformation is required on a 3 month initial contract (with likely extension) based in Southampton, Hampshire with some travel to London.

For this position the Head of IT Transformation will be required to work on part of a major insourcing programme of a number of IT Infrastructure services. The successful candidate will work closely with the current incumbent to ensure that IT Services are successfully brought in house with minimal impact to service for end users. You will be required to ensure that services are correctly managed as part of the insourcing and also be prepared to negotiate new contracts with outsource suppliers if required.

For this position the Head of IT Transformation will have had previous experience of insourcing IT services within an enterprise scale client. You will have experience of managing offshore service providers and have dealt with senior internal stakeholders gathering their requirements to ensure that services match their requirements.

You will be responsible for managing the embedding of Technology Service Management disciplines into the day-to-day activities of the Technology teams ensuring our Client's best practice is followed during all phases of the product lifecycle

Role Responsibilities

* Engaging all relevant stakeholders to maintain visibility on their service availability, operability metrics, risk appetite, incidents and control effectiveness and to provide robust challenge to the same audience when risk appetites are threatened and instigate the incident process when risk appetite is breached
* Acting as a conduit to the Service Management Practice as a whole from the Technology team, and ensuring that operability requirements are given appropriate focus throughout the development and operations lifecycle
* Overseeing effectiveness of controls to ensure compliance with Service Management and Infrastructure Build policies and standards
* Ensuring an effective engagement process is in place that is demonstrably adding value to all target stakeholders
* Ensuring close co-ordination with the Service Management Practice Process Leads so that their process execution remains fully aligned to the rest of the organisation.
* Collaborating across DevOps teams to ensure consistency, and continuously improve Service Management Process execution
* Provide guidance and help to DevOps teams in relation to Service Management Processes to balance speed to market against operability, stability and availability

Key Experience:
