Lead DevOps Engineer

As a Lead DevOps Engineer you may have implemented and maintained an online gaming platform, and looking for your next challenge, or tired of working as a small cog in a large corporate.

We are an online gaming company with the zest and excitement of a start-up with the financial and resource support of a large and established business on the verge of launching a major online gaming platform.

We're on the hunt for a Lead DevOps Engineer to design, build and run systems, tools and micro-services supporting a range of applications of applications, whislt coaching, mentoring and developing a team.

You will setup a very modern 'infrastructure as code' and development environment utilising Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform with a strong CI focus.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage public and in cloud infrastructure
  • Coach, mentor and develop your team of Developers
  • Maintain and improve continuous Integration, deployment pipelines, and automation tools
  • Administer and manage the web and online gaming server environment
  • Monitor online services and take necessary actions to ensure SLA's are delivered
  • Set-up and ensure automated testing and software deployments are successful
  • Monitor and system health and security
  • Ensuring the compliance of responsible gaming protocols

Desirable Experience / Qualifications:

  • Proven experience of automating and deploying software to production.
  • roven experience of leading a team.
  • Ability to find creative solutions and implement them in a fast pace work environment.
  • Technical analysis experience translating business requirements into functionality.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification desirable (ideally in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a similar discipline).

Specific Technical Skills: (we are not expecting you to be proficient with all the technologies listed below, having experience with at least a handful is enough)

  • Experience implementing scalable software systems and platforms.
  • Exceptional problem solving skills.
  • Networking knowledge including switching, routing, VPN's, Load balancing (Software/hardware), CDN.
  • Experience of AWS in a production system.
  • Exposure to Windows, Linux.
  • Good understanding of the Hashicorp Suite (Packer, Terraform, Vault, Vagrant, Consul).
  • Testing, setup and configuration of monitoring/alerting tooling (OpsView, Nagios, ELK, Graphite, Grafana, Zabbix, etc.).
  • Networking knowledge including switching, routing, VPN's, Load balancing (Software/hardware), CDN.
  • Security knowledge including Firewalls (Software/hardware), IPS/IDS, Antivirus, SIEM, IDaM, DDOS.
  • Test and monitoring tools (OpsView, Nagios, ELK, Graphite, Grafana, Zabbix, etc.)
  • Containerisation - Docker, Kubernetes, Swarm;
