You will conduct Quality Assurance within the Controls QA, Methodology & Reporting Team who play a leading role in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of controls through performing quality assurance activities within the control testing process.

You'll contribute to the delivery of high quality and value adding control testing; the development and maintenance of the control testing schedule of activity; the assurance of ongoing testing quality and standards; the development of our testing methodologies as well as contributing to control related reporting.

Want a Summary of the Role?

This senior management role sits within the Software Engineering team in our Group Transformation division, within the Finance Value Stream and will focus on work in our General Ledger’s LAB. As our mission is promote the adoption of modern software engineering practices, specifically accelerating adoption of modern engineering practices: DevOps, Continuous Improvement/Continuous Development, Cloud First, Agile, etc...

You would work in cross-disciplinary teams and act as advocate for Engineering, providing a voice to engineers within the teams, identifying and supporting your teams in resolution of impediments and issues as well as continually developing yourself with industry best practice and tooling used across their engineering team.

What do you need to be considered for this job?

Generally, you are comfortable in a hands-on technical leadership role, blending both solid leadership experience and technical expertise.

We welcome people from a range of role and industry backgrounds but do need to see the following as a minimum for consideration, 1) 5 years + Software Engineering background with experience in building large scale applications with at least one of the following languages: Java or C#.NET, 2) technical leadership experience and desire to help coach and mentor staff, 3) great interpersonal skills and a good communicator with technical and non-technical people, 4) Passionate about driving a true modern DevOps culture, 5) good understanding and/or experience of big data/data management.

Oh, and if you have any prior experience working within a finance function or with general ledger systems that would be handy, but please apply if you don’t!

Who are the General Ledger Software Development Team?

Our team sits within the Group Transformation division, in the Finance Value Stream, specifically within the General Ledger’s LAB area of the bank.  You will be responsible for supporting a vast and complex Finance Ledger landscape including the new Oracle Fusion (Cloud hosted ledger) as well as the existing/legacy ledgers and sub-ledgers.  In addition to this, the team also supports the Integrity application for Finance attestation, the Generic Interface Processes as well as the Data Reference Management tool.

What would you get involved with?

As our mission is promote the adoption of modern software engineering practices, specifically accelerating adoption of modern engineering practices: DevOps, Continuous Improvement/Continuous Development, Cloud First, Agile, etc...

You would work in cross-disciplinary teams and act as advocate for Engineering, providing a voice to engineers within the teams, identifying and supporting your teams in resolution of impediments and issues as well as continually developing yourself with industry best practice and tooling used across their engineering team.

What do you need to be considered for this job?

Generally, you are comfortable in a hands-on technical leadership role, blending both solid leadership experience and technical expertise.

We welcome people from a range of role and industry backgrounds but do need to see the following as a minimum for consideration, 1) 5 years + Software Engineering background with experience in building large scale applications with at least one of the following languages: Java or C#.NET, 2) technical leadership experience and desire to help coach and mentor staff, 3) great interpersonal skills and a good communicator with technical and non-technical people, 4) Passionate about driving a true modern DevOps culture, 5) good understanding and/or experience of big data/data management.

Oh, and if you have any prior experience working within a finance function or with general ledger systems that would be handy, but please apply if you don’t!

Who are the General Ledger Software Development Team?

Our team sits within the Group Transformation division, in the Finance Value Stream, specifically within the General Ledger’s LAB area of the bank.  You will be responsible for supporting a vast and complex Finance Ledger landscape including the new Oracle Fusion (Cloud hosted ledger) as well as the existing/legacy ledgers and sub-ledgers.  In addition to this, the team also supports the Integrity application for Finance attestation, the Generic Interface Processes as well as the Data Reference Management tool.
