About the role?

The technical data architect sets the vision for the directorate's use of data through data design to meet business needs. You will design data architecture by dealing with specific business problems and aligning to enterprise-wide standards and principles. Working within the context of well understood architecture, identifying appropriate patterns and effectively translating and communicate across technical and non-technical stakeholders as well as facilitate discussions within a multidisciplinary directorate, organisation and sector.

The role holder will have an overall perspective on business issues, events and activities, with an understanding of their wider implications and long-term impact. This could include determining patterns, standards, policies, roadmaps and vision statements with a focus on outcomes rather than solutions and activities. Understanding what data governance is required and taking responsibility for the assurance of data solutions and making recommendations to ensure compliance.

You will be working with the Data Engineering team to translate business and product requirements from stakeholders into technical requirements for implementation and will acting as a trusted advisor to customers for cloud adoption and strategy, understanding industry-recognised data-modelling patterns and standards.

Maintaining an excellent understanding of AWS solutions and monitor global IT developments, trends and competitors and providing technical leadership and guidance to others within the Data Engineering team, Data Analytics directorate and across the organisation.
