Lead Data Engineer (85% Night Work)

Job Description Main Responsibilities:

* Reporting to the operations director, you will be in charge of every aspect of one live project from preconstruction to completion.
* Involvement in programming the job and putting together a project team.
* Day-to-day management of the projects, and management and coordination of the main contractor and sub-contractors through the full project life-cycle;
* Ensure assigned projects are completed within budgets and schedules while meeting business objectives;
* Management of project stakeholders (i.e. design team, etc.);
* Weekly progress reporting;
* Assist in the appointment of external consultants, working closely with external parties i.e. engineers, building control etc.

The Successful Applicant In order to be considered you must demonstrate:

* Experience working as a Lead Manager on volume new build housing schemes from start to finish
* Experience in delivering prime / super prime residential projects;
* A stable employment history in permanent employment contracts
* Ability to lead large project teams;
* Experience in working for reputable developer;
* Experience in full project life-cycle is desirable;
* Preferred but not essential - professional qualification (ideally Chartered with 3 years minimum PQE);
* Pragmatic approach to problem solving and decision making.

The client has re-designed their systems and are moving them to the cloud under a microservices architecture. They are leveraging some great Azure features such as service fabric, message bus and storage and they are always looking to leverage new cloud offerings where they add strategic value and keep up to date with technology. Their Legacy Back Office system will undergo transformation into the new architecture. They are developing an exciting online digital offering which implements a voice interface.

Responsibilities

  • As well as working with other developers, you will also be working alongside systems analysts, testers, architects and delivery managers to deliver quality software.
  • You will be involved in the estimation of work and definition of backlog items.
  • Analyse, document and propose solutions by mapping business requirements to technical solutions.
  • Be involved in the application design process, ensuring each system component is well written, performant and ensuring scalability by making applications multi-instance where appropriate.
  • Write code and unit tests to specification.
  • Perform triage of defects and track them through to technical resolution.
  • Participate in daily stand ups.
  • Own the code management in the team and ensure effective use of source control systems.
  • Share your experience with other team members and contribute to the learning culture. Mentor and guide other developers.
