Cyber Security Analyst

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Cyber Security Analyst to join the largest nature conservation charity in the UK, at an exciting time as they undergo significant structural change.

Position: Cyber Security Analyst

Location: Sandy, Bedfordshire - an element of home working will be considered for this role

Salary: Currently £27,585 to £31,828 per annum increasing to £29,320 to £35,538 with effect from 1st April 2020

Hours: Full time, permanent

About the role:

The role of Cyber Security Analyst is brand new and has been created as part of the expansion of the Digital Technology team.

Working closely with the Head of Digital Security, this role will be responsible for developing the analysis processes and tools to help us monitor and improve Cyber Security across all areas of the charity, providing assurance that the digital systems and data are secure.

This is a varied role, in which you will be preventing or detecting threats, responding to security incidents, detecting anomalous behaviours and developing countermeasures and overseeing their implementation, often working with other teams within the Digital Technology department or across the wider organisation.

The post holder is expected to assist the Incident Manager in the event of live security incidents, and to work in close collaboration with our Legal team over aby external compliance investigations.

About you:

As Cyber Security Analyst it is important that you have a passion for technology and security, keeping up to date with the latest trends and intelligence feeds in order to ensure that risks are mitigated as effectively and efficiently as possible.

You will bring with you the following skills and experience:

- Experience of working in a similar role within an organisation or business operating across a range of locations, systems and infrastructure
- Experience of performing vulnerability and risk assessments.
- A good understanding of IT infrastructure and networking.
- A structured approach
- Fantastic communication skills
- The ability to work independently

Although not essential a knowledge of the compliance needs of a registered charity, and of PCI DSS and GDPR would be advantageous, as would experience of internal audit or business analysis.
