Summary of the role:

The successful candidate will be recognised as a decision maker and leader in terms of DevOps activities. Working across mixed-experienced teams, you will be expected to bring your own perspective to the role and wider software development.  You’ll be required to hit the ground running, applying your existing skills and experience to interpret the needs of the teams.

You will be involved in all aspects of the project lifecycle and contribute to the design, build and deploy solutions within multi-discipline teams, working on a variety of technologies from Oracle SOA integration and Oracle BPM through to standalone Java web apps and complex back-end component development.

As a DevOps Engineer you will be working within an exciting dynamic driven team who will guide and support the vision responsible for innovative solutions, working with up to date technologies via automation and transition of code throughout the delivery life cycle.

You will demonstrate the ability to perform a range of complex and non-routine work under the general direction from your manager. You will engage and work closely with other technical teams in developing and deploying code using a continuous integration/delivery pipeline enabling the rapid delivery to live of new and enhanced solutions and their ongoing support and maintenance.

Delivering automated software components that form part of a Dev Ops toolchain. Transforming technical requirements into DevOps processes. Building complex stories without additional support and managing live test environments. Identifying and resolving issues preventing delivery.

Has a basic awareness of the role of software testing in the development lifecycle. Takes a logical, analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail. Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills. Has a good understanding of the business processes which the application(s) support, and a good knowledge of the software involved. This role will be responsible for the architectural definition, solution evaluation and implementation of new digital manufacturing solutions focusing on connected shop floor solutions.  This will initially be focused on establishing connectivity and data flow and will later focus on process data collection and fusion; visualisation and increasingly advanced analytics and management support solutions.

Core Responsilbilites

  • Architect and implement a Coventry-based proof-of-concept solution for connected manufacturing cells and a connected shop floor equipped with standard digital technologies.  In doing so, this will provide a global blueprint with the flexibility to adapt to individual site requirements.
  • Specifically, technical leadership of a UK government funded “smart connected shop floor” project which is part of a larger “High Value Manufacturing” industrial consortium.  This will include partnering with business stakeholders to define near-term requirements and road map priorities.
  • Lead the selection of solution providers / integrators and manage the delivery of solutions, in close cooperation with any relevant stakeholders, including the manufacturing operations and IT teams.
  • Interface with external project partners and government bodies.
  • Assist the Digital Manufacturing programme manager with estimation and risk management.
  • Identify opportunities for intellectual property ownership and development.

 

Key Skills and Attributes

Essential

  • Sound knowledge of enterprise-wide information systems, design patterns and architectures
  • Previous experience defining, architecting and deploying information systems (ideally digital manufacturing systems) in a shop-floor environment
  • Conceptual and analytical thinker with the ability to extract, analyse and document complex business and technical requirements/strategies
  • Effective communication of complex concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma manufacturing principles, methods and tools

Key Responsibilities:

• New client acquisition
• Meet and exceed sales targets for new licenses
• Self-Prospecting / generating your own opportunities
• Fact finding and identifying the needs of new prospects
• Identifying key requirements / objectives
• Presenting solutions to meet prospect requirements & objectives
• Writing Proposals
• Completing Follow Up
• Closing deals

Essential Skills:

• 5+ years sales experience in B2B Software Solution Sales
• Proven success in B2B Software Solution Sales for meeting and exceeding targets
• Proven ability to qualify prospects through questioning
• Closing Skills
• Presentation / Demo Skills
• Ability to develop software product knowledge
• Strong communication skills including negotiation skills (both verbal and written)
• Excellent networking and relationship management skills
• Full Clean Driving License

Beneficial:

• Industry knowledge of Fashion, Outdoor, Equestrian or Cycle Industries
• Previous retail experience, especially in the sectors we work with
• Previous experience using Microsoft CRM

Capita IT Resourcing is currently recruiting for 2 Application Support Analysts to join our leading Service Provider in their Coventry office. Successful candidates will join a team of analysts supporting critical applications processing 100k+ events per day.

The applications being supported are highly specialised and bespoke for this part of the business so prior experience is not necessary. We are looking to hire experienced, curious and enthusiastic Application Support Analysts who can add value, work alongside the 3rd party firms currently supporting the applications and gradually bring that knowledge in-house to become the SME for their area.

Key skills and experience for the Application Support Analyst roles:

- SQL Server 2008 or higher and/or Oracle 9i or higher (including SQL and/or PL/SQL)
- Windows Server 2008 or higher
- PowerShell
