Information and Cyber Security Policy Manager

What you'll need to succeed

As cyber threats continue to diversify and grow, so too does the client’s need to develop our cyber security culture and capabilities to ensure we continue to protect the services and systems which keep London moving.

Cyber security professionals play a critical and ever-increasing role in protecting these services and systems, safeguarding our customers as they travel across the capital’s network, and ultimately helping to realise the Government’s ambition to make the UK the safest place in the world to be online and do business.

The ideal candidate would have experience working with Information Technology and be able to demonstrate their ability to rise to new challenges and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience in cyber security is essential.

This role is for a Cyber Security and Information Security Risk Manager therefore candidates must have strong experience undertaking this type of role, be able to undertake those responsibilities described below and demonstrate the desired skills and qualifications. Candidates who are unable to meet the responsibilities of the role will not be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and developing the client’s internal framework of policies and standards across the IT Cyber Security environment

Skills:

  • A demonstrable passion for Cyber Security
  • A detailed and proven understanding of network infrastructure, system and application architecture and associated security controls within highly complex environments
  • Experience in public cloud application hosting, mobile and web application security
  • Proven understanding of current best practise approach to security assurance and the application of security frameworks (E.g. NCSC 10 Steps to Security, CIS 20 Critical Controls, NIST, ISO27001)
  • Experience in project and development methodologies covering; architecture pattern development, requirements analysis, design review and project risk assessment
  • Planning and prioritising multiple project work streams in response to rapidly developing and changing portfolios
  • Turning business problems into optimal technical security designs, aligning user needs with systems requirements and organisational goals
  • Experience of supplier and third party risk management
  • Capable of making and guiding effective decisions, explaining clearly how decisions have been reached and the ability to understand and resolve technical disputes across varying levels of complexity and risk
  • Highly effective written and verbal communications skills

Responsible for all aspects of successful project delivery.

  • Manage the financials of the project: 
  • Coordinate the estimation process to arrive at an appropriate and commercially viable estimate
  • Track delivery against budget and forecast any likely deviations
  • Trigger finance activities at the end of each milestone
  • Manage the project personnel
  • Identify the needed skills and negotiate the right team (with central resourcing)
  • Manage the individuals and the team to their optimal performance. This includes collaborating with line managers, coaching individuals (or arranging support as needed); assess individuals for project fatigue; and adjust resourcing as needed
  • Facilitate team brainstorming and collaboration
  • Manage the deliverable scope and quality
  • Understand the business and technical domain sufficiently to ensure that the deliverables meet expectations

  • Participation in business development where required
  • Build trusted relationships with the client and identify adjacent opportunities for expansion.  
  • Participate in pre-sales activity collaborating with Client Solutions to drive pitch, formulate engagement scope and deliverables, and operating model definition.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?

Our client is a leader in the electronic trading services market.  They are actively looking for a Supervisory Engineer in their NOC in Paramus, NJ.  The position holds supervisory responsibility over a team of NOC Engineers in addition to taking on some L2 NOC Engineer duties.  The position will be working the night shift (7:30pm-7:30am) on a biweekly rotation as follows:

Week 1 – 7:30pm-7:30am – Th-Fri-Sat-Sun

Week 2 – 7:30pm-7:30am – Fri-Sat-Sun

The candidate must have 4+ years of experience with:

  • Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving WAN and LAN related issues.
  • Coordinating break-fix ,and outage remediation activities with other technical teams and suppliers
  • Hands-on experience using monitoring tools and service management tools for ticketing and providing audit trails ,
  • Performing CCNA-level duties (certification is nice but not necessary) .
  • Working with MPLS, BGP, and EIGRP protocols in the realm of routing and switching.
  • Leading other team members in either a Senior/Lead team role or in a frontline supervisor role.

  • CCNA certification
  • Writing and publishing reports.
