An experienced Data Warehouse Developer is urgently required by my client to take responsibility for leading a small team on the design and development of a fully integrated data warehouse solution which forms a key part of my client’s IT Transformation programme.

Data Warehouse Developer Role and Responsibilities:

- Lead the design and development of a full SQL Server data warehouse to support Business Intelligence and decision-making across the business

- Lead the planning, design and documentation of a suite of BI/ data warehouse solutions in a fully Agile environment

- Provide architectural support to the SQL Data Architect on ad-hoc projects

- Seek out new data sources which will enhance BI and analytical capability across the business

- Manage a small team of Data Warehouse Developers managing monthly reviews, objective setting and personal development

Data Warehouse Developer Skills and Experience:

- Substantial experience as a Data Warehouse Developer, ideally having designed a SQL data warehouse “from scratch”

- In-depth knowledge of SSIS, SSRS and SSAS (Tabular ideally) and Agile development methods

- Strong data warehousing skills including Schema design and Kimball, Inmon and Data Vault methodologies

- Experience of CI/ CD practices (TeamCity, Octopus, Azure DevOps) and automation (BIML)

- A successful track record in leading a small team of Data Warehouse Developers/ Technical Analysts in an Agile team

  • Demonstrable experience of development best practice in relation to code quality analysis, unit and automated testing and continuous integration

  • Evidence of good communication skills, in person and in writing, and a willingness to share their skills and experience with the in-house support team.
