You'll

As a Software Developer you will form part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary agile product team. We develop simple but highly effective web applications, and are passionate about writing good quality, highly testable, user-driven software. Our software uses modern technologies, consisting of mainly angular front-ends using a combination of TypeScript and JavaScript, with backend C# Web API RESTful services. We adopt BDD and TDD and you'll frequently see us pair and mob programming. If that sounds exciting to you then you'll be in good company.

Experience and Skills Required:

Qualifications and Experience

Education, Skills & Knowledge:

Strong understanding and commercial experience of developing full-stack web applications using either Java or .NETS;

Previous responsibility for delivering software end-to-end as part of the whole lifecycle;

Commercial software development experience of working as part of an agile team;

Commercial experience of developing software within a continuous deployment environment, with experience of using CI/CD tooling (e.g. Azure DevOps, Octopus, Jenkins);

Good technical skills with knowledge of solution design and application architecture;

Experience

Experience of successfully designing and developing sophisticated software products deployed in a variety of environments - Essential

Hands-on experience of coding using more than one recognised industry standard language (e.g. Java (preferred), C++; .Net, C#) - Essential

This will involve designing, developing, and delivering integrated business and information solutions across the Nuclear Enterprise and utilising technology to develop the maturity of information management.

Looking at putting some structure in place for clients/customers. Improving current processes as well as creating and developing new ideas.

The company I'm recruiting for is an automotive technology firm with over 100 talented people globally. Their mission is to drive sustainable transport through innovation, and we are the imagination behind vehicles that travel further, perform better and use fewer components.

The role

The primary responsibility for the Software Test role is the testing of firmware for the in-wheel motors. This includes the development of test specification, creation of test harnesses, executions of tests and analysis of results. As a member of the software team, the Software Test Engineer will be required to collaborate with other teams to meet the company's goals and targets.

Essential experience:

  • Good technical degree in engineering or science
  • Fluent in technical English
  • Proven experience of test development in industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial Control or Communications using a V-model verification and validation process
  • Knowledge of Hardware in the Loop environments such as dSPACE
  • Familiarity with process-driven development, ideally ISO 26262, IEC 61508, DO-178C or similar safety standards
  • Understanding of codes of conduct and ethical working

Desirable experience:

  • Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Python
  • Knowledge of unit testing tools such as Razorcat Tessy
  • Ability to interpret SysML diagrams
  • Experience of electric motors and the associated control systems
  • Knowledge of Automotive SPICE
  • OEM/Tier 1 experience of software test for vehicle ECUs
  • Experience working with high power electric and hybrid powertrains
