The Role Description

We are currently recruiting for a Data Warehouse Developer with SQL software stack experience to work on a long-term contract basis.

The position will play a key role in the development of a data warehouse to enable Sellafield Site Enterprise Reporting to operate effectively.

You will work with the business to develop data models, to support business dashboards and reports.

Deliverables:

• Analysing reportable site data

• Provide technical leadership to define the Sellafield Enterprise Reporting data architecture including schema definitions and data connection protocols

• Design, develop, test, document and deploy data models/datasets to support the business reporting applications

• Develop and maintain data management processes

• Automate transactional data flows to support the Sellafield Enterprise Reporting capability including developing schema and data validation techniques

• Manage metadata inventory to ensure data quality, ownership, lineage and currency is maintained

• Working to agreed briefs, project and period end timelines

• Injecting new ideas, innovation and best practice in the field of data analysis into the business working to agreed briefs, timelines and procedures

Essential & Desirable Skills required:

Essential Skills

• Professional experience of working with the Microsoft SQL software stack (2014 or above

• Proven experience with ETL (extract, transform, load) software, such as SSIS

• Have an awareness of Inmon and Kimball data models

• Significant experience of managing and working with large data sets

• Data modelling and data migration

• Good communication skills with the ability to advise others using technical knowledge

• Good analytical skills with the ability to spot trends and patterns

• Data workflow/process design and implementation experience

• Requirements gathering/refining

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in an IT-related subject or relevant work based experience

• SC clearance or ability to attain essential.

Desirable Skills
