We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Intelligence and Systems Integration Developer to join an IT team based in York.

The Business Intelligence and IT Systems Integration Developer will join an innovative team of talented individuals and help deliver strategic projects using leading tools and techniques. This is a great role for someone who wants to develop an enduring Business Intelligence and Integration strategy delivering this throughout the business.

Duties
·Working to champion best practice within data strategy, data and integration frameworks
·Being responsible for gathering and documenting business intelligence and systems integration requirements
·Defining solutions and documenting functional and technical requirements
·Designing, building and maintaining script, data models, integrations, data cubes, data bases and presentation layers through SQL Server Reporting Services, Power BI, Cognos or similar
·To work with the IT Team and the firm in implementing projects
·Provide technical advice and support in the software development life cycle
·Complete tasks on time and within agreed change project budget
·Complete routine systems maintenance
·Proactively resolve identified problems by working with end users effectively
·Assist in the delivery of appropriate training to end users

Skills and experience
Overall understanding of activities within a data and integration environment, are essential for this role, these will include:
·Business Intelligence and systems integration developer experience in excess of 3 years
·Strong SQL/T-SQL Skills, C# .Net Development experience
·SQL Server 2016 onwards including SSRS, SSIS and SSAS
·Previous work with implementing and designing a Data Warehouse
·SSIS development and support, as well as producing system documentation, support documentation and user documentation
·Experience with API development, C#, .NET and SQL is desirable
·Consuming data via REST, SOAP, JSON, XML and HTTP
·You will have good problem solving, technical and analytical skills
·Ability to prioritise effectively, work to deadlines and cope under pressure
·Be an effective communicator, working as part of a team and on your own initiative
·Project delivery skills and consistent achievement of objectives
·Data modelling experience
·Previous experience of working within a law firm / partnership is desirable
·Commercial awareness with practical application of knowledge and skills
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
·Excellent customer service skills

Duties

3rd Line IT Support

  • The main duties of the role will be to ensure the progression and swift resolution of calls logged with the Service Desk and delivering superior services in line with Service Level Agreements and managing client expectations.

Purpose:

  • Handle escalated calls from first/second line Service Desk
  • Administer and maintain customer infrastructure, including Active Directory, LAN, Internet access, firewalls and Exchange/Office 365
  • Administer VMware and Citrix Infrastructures including SAN environments
  • Administer Avaya telephony systems
  • Monitor and troubleshoot server and network performance utilising the monitoring system to ensure any necessary action is taken
  • Administer backup and disaster recovery systems and processes
  • Management of relationships with third parties and suppliers
  • Keep operational documentation up-to-date

Technical skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 including NLB and clustering
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server and Office 365
  • Thorough knowledge/experience of troubleshooting networking protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and vLANs
  • Strong Knowledge of backup and DR services (Backup Exec, Datto, Azure)
  • Experience in installing, configuring and managing Cisco switches and routers.
  • Good knowledge of Avaya phone systems
  • Knowledge of iSCSI/Fibre channel Storage Area Networks, such as EMC
  • Knowledge of Windows Script Host/VBScript/ PowerShell
  • Experience of patch management deployment/Windows Software Update Services
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7+
  • Understanding of VOIP
  • Ability to perform Research and Development into systems in preparation for implementation/third line support

Education/Qualifications/Qualities:
