Software Engineer

Responsibilities:
  • Design, code, test and deliver software to automate manual operational work
  • Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-incident evaluations and ensure permanent closure of incidents
  • Engage with development teams throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes
  • Identify application patterns and analytics in support of better service level objectives
  • Design and develop self-healing and resiliency patterns
  • Design and develop performance tests, identify bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization and capacity demands, and present solutions for continuous improvements
  • Implement best in class monitoring frameworks to accomplish end-to-end flow monitoring and noiseless alerting
  • Develop automated software and product upgrades, change management and release management solutions
  • Coach/Influence developers and other teams across the globe to ensure resiliency and stability standards
  • Effectively split time between operational work and engineering work
  • Contribute to around the clock support coverage as needed
Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience in a software engineering discipline
  • Expert in at least one technology stack designing, coding, testing, delivering software
  • Previous experience with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations
  • Working knowledge or understanding of infrastructure components such as routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage and networks
  • Excellent debugging and trouble shooting skills
  • Experience with Linux infrastructures, database SQL (MS SQL), CI/CD tools(Jenkins, Jules, Maven), scripting such as Java, JavaScript, Python or Perl or Ruby, Scrum/Kanban/Agile methodologies
  • Experience in Core Java, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Unix Shell Scripting
  • Basic knowledge about Development in J2EE, Spring Boot, MVC etc.
  • Experience about Support models - Incident Management, Problem Management
  • Knowledge about version control repositories like GIT
  • Understanding of NOSQL databases e.g. Marklogic, Hadoop, MongoDB etc..
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management and end users, participate in incident management and issue resolution across multiple teams
  • Perform Production releases

Ahands-on application developer (Senior/Mid-level/Junior - as multiple positionsavailable) who is passionate about Java and/or GUI development, building highlyscalable and resilient applications, and focused on solving complex businessproblems. Java candidates should have deep knowledge of data structures,multi-threading, web services, and data access patterns. UI candidatesneed to have experience developing high quality, highly functional webapplications using Javascript and is current with the latest technologiesaround HTML, Javascript frameworks and Javascript charting libraries.

Thecandidate will be responsible for server-side and/or front end developmentsupporting the Client Reference data initiatives for Custody and Fund Servicesbusiness aimed to significantly improve the Client Onboarding process

She/he will have responsibility for unit-level design, coding, writingautomated test cases, unit testing, integration testing and participating inthe full SDLC, Agile methodology. The candidate must have a sound grasp ofdevelopment best practice and system architecture. She/he will be expected toproduce high-quality code that can pass critical peer review, and to work undera high-pressure and timeline-driven environment.

Deep technical knowledge and the ability to communicate ideas is anintegral part of the role, and as such the successful candidate will berequired to demonstrate proficiency in the technical areas required for theproject, and should possess good verbal and written communication skills.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

• Demonstrates exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

• Java developers:
o Deep understanding of Java,
o Working knowledge of various data structures,
o Concurrency and multi-threading, run time VM, garbage collection,
o Web-based request handling, servlets and filters in J2EE, and distributed architecture
o Java Messaging JMS, Kafka
o Automated test cases

• UI experience preferred but not essential:
o JavaScript, some JavaScript framework (e.g. Ext JS or Angular JS, React JS), some JavaScript charting library
o HTML, CSS
o Web Services and various protocols
• Knowledge and experience developing portals and portlets
• Ability to follow complex design and development standards.
