I am currently working on behalf of my key client based just outside Skelmersdale. A role has arisen within their Information Systems Group for a temporary (6 months fixed term contract) IS Service Centre Analyst (2nd line
support), reporting to the Regional Team Leader.

The IS Service Centre service delivery team is responsible for resolving tickets via telephone calls, remote access, email and visits. The successful candidate will work in a function which currently supports nearly 1,000 users across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

* Record problems in the online call logging system, along with troubleshooting, prioritisation, resolution and/or assignment of problems, progress chasing, maintaining incident records

* Achieve service level targets and Key Performance Indicators.

* Maintain a professional service whilst dealing with all levels of staff and management in a busy environment.

* Adhere to our H&S policies and follow the Key Safety Behaviours.

* Liaise with Third Parties and ensure they are following standard processes.

* Provide remote and on site 2nd line support for Client PCs, Printers, Telephony, Servers and Network equipment.

* Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) are created and knowledge is shared.

* Assist in the PC Refreshment process (D2D, including the physical requirements of boxing and un-boxing equipment to ensure refresh targets are met and returns are managed appropriately.

* Carry out site visits where necessary.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills, as well as excellent customer service skills.

Network troubleshooting and server experience would also be advantageous, as would general hardware knowledge.

An understanding of key IS areas including Active Directory, Exchange, Networking, Client Refresh, TCP/IP, SQL, Backup and 3rd party applications, or project work would be preferable but not essential.

Embedded Software Developer

Overview:
This role revolves around the development of on-board core software modules which form a key part of VP's industrial IoT platform - VPVision. New or modified modules will have to be generated either on the fly to support customer trials/demonstrations or carefully and meticulously to support VP's long term product development goals. The person will relish the opportunity to create a data acquisition and analysis solution which is optimised to work in conjunction with a cloud platform, works independently and enjoys solving technical problems on complex systems.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. Candidates already in the UK and working under a Tier 2 Sponsorship will also be considered.

Responsibilities and Activities:
* Develop and test application code to support new applications with external customers and internal research and development objectives;
* Based on customer feedback and business needs, collaborate with other domain experts and contribute to the creation of a long-term technology roadmap;
* Appraise new technology and assess its suitability for application within VPVision;
* Own the development and delivery of core-software modules in line with the technology roadmap;
* Work with the hardware team to get new features up and running;
* Work within cost targets, trade-off different options to ensure the most suitable approach is taken to feature development;
* Test, Validate and Release software updates in line with best practice;
* Create core-software modules that enable geo-fencing, edge computing capabilities and other new modules that support the product scaling up to 1000's of deployments;
* Develop OTA update mechanisms to reliably update remotely deployed devices;
* Develop tools and interfaces for end users and engineers;
* Build and deploy Linux kernels and bootloaders on the embedded devices;
* Develop tools that used in production and enable software uploads, configuration control and testing;
* Ensure robust configuration management is in place and the health of deployed assets is well understood and continually monitored;
* Develop, deploy and run the device-side cloud infrastructure required to remotely update and maintain fielded equipment;
* Ensure requirements for security, documentation and regulations are well understood within your domain, are complied with, updated and maintained as necessary;
* Visit vehicles/assets to participate in the integration of new equipment during the trial and production phases;
* Provide remote diagnostics to identify the root cause and corrective action of faulty fielded equipment;
* Help scope out and estimate tasks, participate in the creation of project plans, report on progress, risks and opportunities.

Skills and Experience
Required:

This is an excellent opportunity for a Cyber Security Analyst to join a growing IT team. Based in Liverpool, you play an integral part in ensuring that all IT systems are securely implemented and maintained within the business. Responsibilities will include;

  • To support, maintain, develop and ensure governance of all security platforms including but not limited to SIEM, NAC, Vulnerability Management, Firewalls, 2FA, Endpoint Security, e-mail security and web security.
  • Ensure security incidents, alerts and exceptions are responded to in accordance with company procedures.
  • Conduct advanced network, endpoint, and log analysis to determine the root cause and impact of any security incidents or events and remediate where necessary.
  • Produce regular vulnerability reports to demonstrate USS compliance and security posture.
  • Track cyber threat actors/campaigns based off data from security toolsets, technical analysis and open source intelligence with a view to highlighting and remediating any identified risk.
  • Provide support to vulnerability analysis, penetration testing and compliance monitoring activities.
  • Lead on remediation of system vulnerabilities through patching and updates as part of planned and emergency maintenance processes across the platforms.
  • Building security into BAU processes
  • Technical documentation of current and newly implemented solutions.
  • Work closely with third parties to ensure the effectiveness of the tools in place

The ideal candidate will have a strong awareness of the cyber security threat landscape, SIEM tools, firewalls and boundary controls coupled with excellent troubleshooting and investigating skills. They will have a solid understanding of threat analysis and cyber threat intelligence. The ability to look at complex threats and be confident regarding forensic analysis and surrounding techniques. Strong experience and knowledge of using Security Information and Event Management tools such as Splunk. Network Access Controls such as Forescout. Next Gen Firewalls such as Palo Alto and a strong understand of Network, Data Centre and WebApp security. Knowledge and experience in PEN testing tools and a formal security qualification or equivalent such as CISM, CISSP, CEH would be desirable.
