This is a fantastic role for a driven, creative and articulate individual to join a credible business development agency in the Watford area.

The role is in the Watford area, with excellent transport links into the office, and as the Business Development Consultant, you will:

  • Partner with corporate clients, building and developing relationships over the phone, converting cold calls into meetings
  • Work across a broad portfolio of sectors
  • Plan and prioritise business development activities to meet targets
  • Influence, negotiate and close deals, leveraging different sales methods to secure meetings with new customers

You will receive:

  • Generous target-based bonus / commission
  • 30 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Christmas close-down for around 10 days

Essential Requirements:

Opus Energy is now looking for an IT Test Analyst to join our growing Smart Metering development team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You'll play a key role in ensuring that our systems and applications meet the needs of the business as we move into the SMART era.

Working on new systems and processes that are at the forefront of our industry, you'll be responsible for analysing IT system changes, preparing test artefacts and data, and performing the testing of the system changes with the overall goal of improving the quality of the IT systems delivered to the business.

With an eye for problem solving and an inquisitive mind, you'll recognise trends of deficient quality, investigate and diagnose the underlying causes, and propose solutions to the responsible Test Lead.

Your background will have provided you with experience of the testing process and you'll be comfortable devising test cases, creating test schedules, testing both the functional and non-functional aspects of releases, managing the defect lifecycle and reporting on testing progress and quality. Experience in the Utilities industry and SMART Metering specifically will be advantageous, as well as working knowledge of SQL.

We'll ensure there's plenty of support, coaching and mentoring to allow you to be successful in the role. The result will be that you're able to learn new areas of our applications quickly and work within these areas independently.

Working in a team that collaborates with the whole IT function, you'll develop effective working relationships with Developers, Business System Analysts and Project Managers so you'll be able to learn from their experience and bring their knowledge back into your own role.
