The Role

The Product Manager sits within the Willis Re Technology team. They will be responsible for one or more products within the modelling portfolio, working closely with a Senior Product Manager and Head of Product to ensure that the roadmap(s) and execution are aligned with the overall strategy for the portfolio. As such the Product Manager, will be play an important role in the future strategy and delivery of products that support catastrophe modelling within Willis Re.

Responsibilities:
  • Own the roadmap for one or more product(s) within the modelling portfolio
  • Ownership of the Product backlog; Ensure that the backlog is in alignment with the product roadmap and strategic vision, ensure that the backlog is prioritised to ensure maximum value, ensure that backlog items/user stories are well written, understood, capture business value and meet the definition of ready
  • Work with the agile development team; Communicate product vision to the team – ensure the team understands the goals the team are working towards, motivate and inspire the team, clearly communicate business requirements to the team, work with the team during the development cycle to ensure that requirements are understood, and features are being developed as expected,contribute towards team improvement in terms of agile practises and delivery
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders, gaining buy-in, providing feedback, setting and managing expectations, communicating release plans etc
  • Liaise and coordinate with other teams where required e.g., product rollout and support
  • Engage with users of your product – proactively get feedback on features, usability, ideas for future development. Collate and manage feedback, share with the product team and add to product backlog where appropriate
  • Balance strategic and tactical needs, prioritising requirements accordingly
The Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Product Owner / Manager
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner Certification
  • Re/Insurance experience and knowledge of catastrophe modelling is highly desirable.
  • Agile experience across Scrum and other methodologies
  • Experience using MS Azure DevOps, Jira or similar
