We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Bioinformatics Software Quality Assurance Engineer to support the verification and validation of the company' bioinformatics software pipeline.
The successful applicant will be expected to possess a strong knowledge and experience of test engineering and its best practices. You will understand the appropriate levels to test at and be able to write and execute high quality tests. Your responsibilities will include preparation of test data, designing and executing tests and working closely with the development team.

This position requires:
·Bachelor's degree in computing science or equivalent experience
·Prior experience of working as a software tester
·Experience writing in at least one automated test framework (e.g. test that, pytest, Junit)
·Experience writing Python/R/Groovy scripts
·Ability and eagerness to rapidly learn new languages/frameworks as required.
·Experience working in a Linux command-line environment
·Experience with Git version control

In addition to the above, the following skills/experiences are desirable:
·Experience with Continuous Integration
·Strong knowledge of Groovy/Java, Bash
·Experience working with HPC/AWS and Docker
·Bioinformatics experience
·Experience working with the Atlassian toolchain (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)
·Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment

As a Middleware Architect, you'll be working closely with Barclays application development, platform development, and Security/Controls functions. What will you be doing?
  • Form, owning and communicating the technical strategy across Barclays' middleware services and related systems and technologies

  • Building and managing multiyear product roadmaps aligning them to overall strategy for Application Platforms
  • Enabling successful transition to the target state by structuring the product backlog into features and releases, understanding and managing inter and intra product dependencies
  • Ensuring the end-to-end technical integrity and quality of solutions and product releases
  • Working within programs to successfully deliver product change and program objectives
  • Participating in the development and formation of the overall Enterprise Technology strategy and architecture
  • Collaborating with Technical Architects within and outside to drive their strategy and understanding how their strategy should influence to ensure compatibility
