Role Summary:

Reporting to the BA/QA team lead, the business analyst is accountable for assisting with the implementation and delivery of the company’s product development strategy by obtaining future requirements from both internal and external clients and driving them through to delivery. The business analyst will work as a member of the product team to ensure key deliverables are met. Responsible for your individual performance targets and working with the various internal and external clients to deliver a product roadmap, you will have a direct impact on the company’s revenue through evolving requirements.

Key performance targets will be:

- Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously;

- Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans;

Essential Skills, Experience and Attributes;

Key Accountabilities


Utilise the project management methodology that is appropriate for the scale/nature of the project to manage projects through their lifecycle ensuring that:

  • All projects have documented Business Cases, signed off by Senior Management

  • All projects have agreed budgets which are tracked and reported on through the project lifecycle
  • Change Control processes are applied and enforced to ensure scope and budgets are controlled

  • All projects/Stages have a finite and defined lifecycle. Project plans are created, maintained and reported from.
  • All projects have quality controls agreed to ensure that their products meet agreed Customer Quality Expectations

  • Project health \ status is monitored to allow, if necessary, projects to be cancelled by the Project Executive e.g. if they no longer have a viable business case.
  • Risks are managed including the development of contingency plans

Work closely with the project’s suppliers to:

  • Ensure that solutions are developed to meet the needs of the project and are not exceeding the project scope
  • Ensure that you have a detailed understanding of the project’s requirements and solution
  • Provide suggestions and guidance, based on your experience, to maximise the chances of project success
  • Escalate any performance issues to relevant stakeholders and line management.

Analysis of Business Requirements

  • Liaise as necessary with business users regarding their future business requirements and system needs, analyse and document their requirements.
  • Producing detailed functional specifications suitable for the approval by the business sponsor and of sufficient detail to allow a Developer to develop the solution with no ambiguity.
  • Liaise and assist the Business Process Manager with project planning, resource levels, and timing of the system requirements.
  • Throughout the specification, development and testing phase ensure there are adequate controls in place to record changes in the business or systems requirements, and ensure these are communicated to the development team in a timely manner.

  • Project health \ status is monitored to allow, if necessary, projects to be cancelled by the Project Executive e.g. if they no longer have a viable business case.
  • Risks are managed including the development of contingency plans

Work closely with the project’s suppliers to:

  • Ensure that solutions are developed to meet the needs of the project and are not exceeding the project scope
  • Ensure that you have a detailed understanding of the project’s requirements and solution
  • Provide suggestions and guidance, based on your experience, to maximise the chances of project success
  • Escalate any performance issues to relevant stakeholders and line management.

Analysis of Business Requirements

  • Liaise as necessary with business users regarding their future business requirements and system needs, analyse and document their requirements.
  • Producing detailed functional specifications suitable for the approval by the business sponsor and of sufficient detail to allow a Developer to develop the solution with no ambiguity.
  • Liaise and assist the Business Process Manager with project planning, resource levels, and timing of the system requirements.
  • Throughout the specification, development and testing phase ensure there are adequate controls in place to record changes in the business or systems requirements, and ensure these are communicated to the development team in a timely manner.

  • Significant experience in successful project delivery and business analysis.
  • Demonstrate a customer focused approach to delivering projects
  • Able to communicate technical subjects to non-technical audiences
  • Self-motivated and able to adapt to different circumstances
  • Personable, approachable and helpful
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)

Desirable

  • French for business/French speaker
  • Experience working in an agile environment i.e. SCRUM
