Business Analyst required by market leading legal sector organisation based in Central Bristol. The Business Analyst will join the business in a period of growth and play a significant part within an ambitious programme of projects to transform the way our client works.

This contract role will run for an initial 3 months with extensions to follow.

The Business Analyst role is an internal consultancy role that has responsibility for investigating business systems and processes and identifying options for improvement. This is a key role in supporting management to exploit IT in order to obtain business benefit.

Main Duties:

*Proactive coaching and mentoring of the Junior Business Analyst and Business Analyst roles within the team
*Proven track record of following embedded processes and expected behaviors
*Demonstrable and proactive contribution towards continuous improvement activities within the team
*Contribute towards the creation and maintenance of the team's precedents, guidance documentation and lifecycle process
*Contribute towards the coaching and mentoring of more junior Business Analysts
*Participate in the recruitment process as required
*Identify and suggest appropriate business analysis steps and tasks required during the project lifecycle to achieve the expected outcomes efficiently
*Identify and deliver successful business analysis products within different business change frameworks and environments e.g. agile, waterfall, projects and programmes
*Extract business requirements using a range of business analysis techniques including interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and task and workflow analysis
*Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal clients to analyse information, functional and non-functional requirements
*Use proven business modelling techniques to understand options, efficiencies, benefits and return on investment
*Develop requirements specifications according to standards, using natural language
*Drive and challenge business teams on their assumptions of how the solution will meet their needs
*To proactively support project managers to manage, plan, structure and lead projects
*Take responsibility for delivery and support the enforcement of project deadlines and schedules
*Evaluate information gathered and distinguish user requests from the underlying true business needs. Work with the client to identify required changes
*Document the results of business analysis for example workflows, obtaining sign-off from clients on the agreed current and target processes or solutions, as well as potential efficiencies
*Document use cases or user stories, analysing requirements to agree priority with clients and stakeholders, including minimum overall specifications
*Identify and track measures needed to update business cases and help realise the benefits resulting from the project
*Collaborate with subject matter experts (e.g. developers, solution and technical architects) to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between usability and functional/performance

*Be the first port of call in terms of Consultancy and sizing of potential initiatives that may translate into future projects, helping initial scoping and understanding of the firm and the technical teams
*Represent Business Analysis team at key meetings (PMO Governance and projects) as required

Required background:

*Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret the client's business need and translate them into business/operational requirements
*Excellent interpersonal skills, able to understand, appreciate and adapt to different working styles and patterns to get the most out of the team and project contributors
*Solid technical/IT understanding (role is business focused not IT focused)
*Results orientated with good communication and interpersonal skills
*Strong time management and prioritisation of conflicting deadlines and expectations.
*Core experiences
*Extensive end to end experience of the project lifecycle in both agile and waterfall models across both system and business change projects
*Extensive experience covering a variety of Business Analysis techniques (Business process mapping, Business Process Improvements, requirement gathering techniques, stakeholder management, facilitation skills etc)
*Proven experience writing specifications for IT systems/requirements
*Proven experience interacting, working and communicating directly with end users

This excellent contract will run for an initial 3 months with extensions to follow. The rate will be between £360-380 per day.

    • Lead continual implementation and evolution of the AWS Cloud strategy and configuring new environments using automated tools.
    • Oversee the design of DevOps processes and encouraging a new, tried and tested approach
    • Drive automated management of all server components using Puppet, Packet, Ruby, Docker, Terraform
    • Creating and managing KPI's
    • Support the software delivery process by identifying and providing appropriate pre-production environments.
    • Manage all code deployments and infrastructure changes to control environments in a controlled auditable manner.
    • Liaise with 3rd party vendors, hosting services and licence providers.
    • Ensure robust Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Managements processes are in place and tested to make sure applications are fit for purpose.

    Essential Skills & Experience:
