Brief Description of job role and department The council's vision is to transform the customer experience across both boroughs, improving outcomes, reducing costs and increasing revenue opportunities.
This role is responsible for the leadership and development of the council's websites to ensure they deliver an enhanced customer experience, are fully accessible and become leading national examples of best practice aligning with both councils aspirations to be digital councils.

Specific accountabilities

The role will be to lead the formal Strategy & Architecture function, managing a team of architects (business intelligence, data, and application & solution) in a direct capacity (solid-line reporting relationship).

  • Strong knowledge of deploying and migrating solutions to cloud, VMWare 5.5+, Windows Server, MS SQL, IIS, Linux in clustered, HA, single/multi-tenanted and globally distributed deployments, RDBMS, PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, DBaaS, etc
  • Experience of designing solutions and services, multi-tenanted web applications of scale, exposure to enterprise automation technologies and practices
  • Experience managing infrastructure in hosted and cloud environments, especially transition to cloud
  • Familiarity with the software development life cycle
  • Work experience with information and application security concepts, mechanisms, and tools
  • Large-scale distributed systems architecture
