Head of Product Operations - Product Management

Leading eCommerce technology business is going through a period of major growth and is now looking for an experienced Head of Product Operations to Head the newly established and evolving Product Operation function to drive the ongoing improvement of the Product Management function.

The role will work with the product leadership team to enable their teams to improve and deliver a fantastic and world leading product to their clients and their customers. This role will lead Analytics, the overall Roadmap programme and a variety of cross-cutting initiatives. The role will require leadership of these, and potentially other, central functions which support their product and engineering streams which are deciding what they build given market and stakeholder inputs. Each of the product operations functions provide essential services which will need to evolve with their product portfolio.

Role:

  • Ownership of the overall Technology Product Roadmap, the tooling and reporting
  • Ownership of their governance process to ensure they present a clear picture of what they plan to deliver to their senior stakeholders and clients
  • Responsibility for cross-cutting products or product initiatives to develop a product that is commercially attractive for their clients.
  • Line management of the product operations teams for roadmap, central analytics, programme leadership for cross-cutting initiatives, cross-stream project management
  • Working with the product leadership team develop business processes to streamline product development
  • Working with solutions stakeholders to ensure their engagement and ways of working are effective and solving real problems
  • Supporting and deputise for Director of Product Management in representing the overall progress and focus on roadmap where required both internally and externally
  • Become a trusted partner for their product and engineering teams understanding how your team can help contribute to driving their overall mission
  • Take a leading role in shaping the technology product function to ensure it is fit for the challenges ahead

  • Experience leading multiple teams to successfully deliver multiple significant products or services
  • Good understanding and experience of product and the practical application of key methodologies used to deliver at scale
  • You are assertive but diplomatic and have a bias for action, collaboration and optimism
  • You are comfortable sorting out ambiguity and can bring clarity of purpose to a conversation
  • Ability to communicate directly and clearly, with a strong emphasis on careful listening
  • Excellent influencing skills at all levels in the organisation, acute flexibility in a dynamic, ever-changing environment
  • A proactive problem-solver who operates effectively and independently, even in areas of uncertainty and ambiguity
