JOB TITLE: Service Desk Manager

SALARY: Circa £30k per a year

LOCATION: Reading

INDUSTRY: Facilities

HOURS: Monday-Friday, 40hours per a week

What will you be doing day to day in your new role?

  • Answering the telephone and responding to enquiries accordingly
  • Liaising and maintaining a good relationship with Client Contacts
  • Recruiting for new team members when required
  • Training, Managing and developing the Help Desk Team through coaching, mentoring and use of structured development plans, continually reviewing the team to ensure a high level of service is delivered
  • Ensure all associated KPI's and SLA's are implemented, met, monitored and reviewed
  • To improve the performance of the team by maintaining communication with staff and providing the appropriate support and guidance
  • Sending out risk assessments and method statements to client representatives

As a Data Engineer you will enable data-driven decisons through cleaning, prepping and transforming data to create valuable insights. You will be passionate about data processing systems with an emphasis on security, compliance and scaleability so that pre-existing machine learning models can be leverage and deployed. This is a great opportunity to work on the latest tech along side passionate Machine Learning engineers and data scientist. You will also play a major role in shooing between different storage solutions and between different data processing products such Cloud SQL, BigTable, and Datastore.
 
Experience needed:

  • Professional work experience as a data engineer on any Cloud Platform
  • Experience Designing batch ETL pipelines and / or building streaming data pipelines
  • Building and operationalizing data processing systems (DB, warehouses, lakes)
  • Migrating existing MySQL workloads to Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience in big data warehouse and visualisation tools to carry out interactive data analysis
  • Data modeling
  • Programming skills in Golang and/or Python

Quant Developer | Start-Up Hedge Fund

We recently partnered with a global hedge fund in the City that has £5 Billion in AUM. The CTO just got approvals to build out a new cross-asset library. In order to execute the build-out, they are looking to bring on a few passionate quantitative C# developers at the mid-level of experience to help lead the execution of this long-term project.

This is an opportunity to work at a tech-driven hedge fund that has spun out of and is now backed by one of the world's largest asset managers. This particular team was formed four years ago and is now home to 24 extremely talented technologists and researchers. The team is growing, but will still allow you the chance to work directly with the CTO and the senior technology team in an environment that fosters independence and innovation.

The team will be utilising C# and Python for the development of the library. The successful candidate will need to have very solid programming skills and solid quantitative fundamentals (pricing, risk, analytics etc).

Responsibilities:

* Help lead the thought process behind library development by proposing and researching new technologies

* Code in C# and Python to develop a brand new leading-edge analytics library

* Contribute to the design efforts of the library

* Work with research teams to implement new strategies

* Build new visualization and reporting tools to help portfolio managers and researchers with model performance

Qualifications:

* Graduate degree in Computer Science or a quantitative disciple from a top university preferred

* Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience with C# and Python (Pandas, Python, Numpy, Scipy) development

* Financial experience highly preferred

* Strong analytical, development, and modeling skills

IR35: this assignment falls outside of IR35

Job Essence: 

They are looking to recruit a software developer to redevelop an existing small Oracle Forms 6i application for us, using modern technologies. 

Requirements for the Roles: 
  • Full software delivery lifecycle experience with the ability to make design and implementation decisions, write and perform unit tests and compose documentation.
  • Frontend experience in Angular and backend experience in a Java framework such as Spring and familiarity with Oracle database as a persistent data store.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player.
  • Good time-management skills.
