Role Overview

Our client is looking for a Technical Customer Support analyst to work as part of a small but critical team, to deliver exceptional technical support to their customer base.

The team has responsibility for all technical post sales activity at both 1st and 2nd line level, supporting 300+ customers across multiple platforms.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Technical application experience in SQL Server/T-SQL
  • Technical skills using multiple operating systems such as Windows 2008 server, 2012 server, Windows 7 & 8 etc
  • General office applications (Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, SharePoint)
  • Working knowledge of web/internet applications and their structure beneficial

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer queries (calls, emails, work requests)
  • Responding to system generated alerting
  • Triage of incidents and intelligent escalation where appropriate
  • Assisting in root cause analysis where appropriate:
    • Reviewing system log files
    • Understanding and searching SQL code (or other tools as appropriate)
    • Analysis of data within Excel (or other tools as appropriate)
  • Updating customer communications and documentation:
    • Emails
    • Change log
    • Incident log
    • Tickets
    • Work requests
  • Administrative activities for provisioning and support customer environments, Eg:
  • Create new customer web portals or network level data connections
  • Changing message routing
  • Custom reports
  • Producing customer reports as required
  • Training customers on the utilisation of our products
  • Balancing workload to deliver against tight customer requirements, schedules& SLA’s
  • Cover the on-call rota as required; our services are 24x7x365 (normal pattern is 7 days in 28, but this may vary when there is a need for additional cover)
  • Additional tasks deemed necessary for the success of our business

We are looking to recruit an experienced Cell Support Technician, to assist the Manufacturing Engineering Team in their mission to continually improve the manufacturing zones, to deliver zero accidents; zero defects; zero lead time and zero cost growth.

What do you need to have to join us

  • HNC/HND in engineering (electronics is advantageous). Engineering Degree is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (electronics is advantageous).
  • Working knowledge of electronics manufacturing process stages and test systems.
  • Competent at component level fault finding and repair is advantageous.
  • Must be PC literate with experience of Microsoft Office (Including Word, Excel and PowerPoint). SAP is advantageous.
  • An understanding of engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.
  • Understanding of technical investigations, problem solving and improvements.

What would you be doing

  • Act as a second to Manufacturing Engineers on technical matters.
  • Implementation of VTPS and associated improvement activities. Actively seeking, developing and implementing continuous improvement ideas.
  • Implement, improve and maintain cell manufacturing system layout.
  • Update relevant zone documentation to support zero defect manufacturing.
  • Coordinate the returns to/from the internal manufacturing zones and external returns from other sites/customers. Implementation of related corrective and preventative actions.
  • Scheduled maintenance, programming and breakdown repair of the manufacturing equipment.
  • Delivery of daily and weekly equipment maintenance procedures (TPM).
  • Timely completion of internal and external audit actions.
