Software QA Tester

Our client is a leading provider in their sector and currently looking for an experienced Software QA Tester or an individual who is keen to develop a career in Testing and able to think outside the box. They will need to be an experienced manual tester with recent experience plus have some automation testing experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Triage and investigation of reported issues, ensuring they are being properly tackled and work to actively prevent regression.
  • Designing and implementing regression test suite.
  • Evaluating our current test strategy & looking for constant development and improvement.
  • Liaising with developers and stakeholders to scope and estimate testing requirements

  • Black box and functional testing - requires candidates to quickly gain an in depth knowledge of the software
  • Integration testing – design and execute test cases on a modular basis using internal API's
  • End to end testing - simulate customer environment to analyse full functionality
  • Understanding of contact centres, telephony, VoIP
  • Creativity in designing test cases

In addition, you will be required to liaise with technical resolver groups to ensure the timely resolution of incidents, ensuring that SLAs are met.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Be the primary point of contact for all incidents and requests
  • Ensure detailed and accurate information is captured at the first point of contact
  • Provide initial troubleshooting and diagnostics capabilities
  • help maintain our strong first time fix rates
  • Ensure incidents/requests are assigned to the correct technical resolver groups
  • Prioritise and categorise incidents in line with our existing processes
  • Assist in the handling and management of Major Incidents and outages

Essential Skills:

  • 2 years' previous experience working in a busy IT Service Desk environment
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering outstanding customer service under pressure.

Desirable Skills:

  • ITIL v3 Foundation level qualification
  • Vendor qualifications (Microsoft, CISCO, Citrix)
  • A basic understanding of PC hardware and software, including Dameware and LogMeIn
  • Experience of supporting a Windows 7/10 desktop environment
