A great opportunity to join the IT Team of a global manufacturing group, supplying components to the aerospace and power generation industries world wide.

The Server Support / Network Administrator will manage a network of virtual and stand-alone server equipment, printer networks / servers, PC's - Installing, supporting, back-ups, policies, procedures and maintaining these servers / computer systems whilst planning for and responding to service outages and other problems. The company has 80 printers and 300 PC's across 2 site (Leeds and Leicester).

Candidate Requirements for Server Support Engineer:

Relevant qualification in Computer Information Systems or related field of study.
Substantial experience in IT to include server support and Active Directory

Key Reponsibilities:

* Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Radius, WSUS, document control, file servers, RDS farm, print servers and VMWare infrastructure
* Troubleshoot server and PC hardware and software problems to identify and resolve hardware and software issues
* Ensure data integrity and business continuity through effective implementation and maintenance of the data backup and disaster recovery plan including daily reviews of backups and corrective action for job failures
* Monitor and maintain deployment and maintenance of security software on both servers and PC's
* Monitor server health and conducts preventive maintenance to ensure near 100% uptime
* Troubleshoot server and PC hardware and software problems to identify and resolve hardware and software issues
* Perform regular out of hours maintenance in order to maximize performance and useful life of PCC's computer systems
* When needed, provide out of hours support to ensure any business critical issues are resolved
* Adhere to policies, procedures and standards in accordance with Corporate IT and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) policies

Hours and package:

7.30am to 16.30pm Monday/Tuesday

Wanstor are looking for a POS Implementation Specialist to provide technical assistance, configuration and implementation on a vast range of projects, ranging from new site openings, refurbishments, closures, POS installations to POS integration projects.

You will work with award winning hospitality chains on multiple projects at any given time, working in close contact with project managers and key stakeholders at each client. We work with global and domestic market leading clients, some of which operate in excess of 400 sites in the UK alone. You will be exposed to the latest hospitality technology, working with innovative Wanstor teams and partners such as Oracle in a growing, fast-paced industry.

Reporting into the POS Implementation Manager, you will possess excellent communications skills with people at all levels and maintain a strong customer-focused approach. You must be equally passionate about the company and your role and take ownership of project milestones to drive project completion. You should be proactive, forward thinking, a team player and enjoy the challenge of solving complex issues.

Responsibilities

  • Own projects as a POS Subject Matter Expert
  • Attend POS installations around the UK and internationally
  • Work alongside client operations and IT teams, testing the latest software, interfaces and apps to enhance the user journey for clients and their guests
  • Use your detailed knowledge of Oracle POS, networking, wireless switches and connectivity to map out requirements for design and the maintenance of POS estates for multiple clients
  • Highlight system and process improvements through progressive system reviews
  • Create technical knowledge articles and operational documentation from project work to facilitate the transition of projects into business as usual
  • Develop and strengthen working relationships with customers and partners
  • Provide support to the service desk as required
  • Continue to grow and develop via self-learning, using tools such as LinkedIn Learning and POS training provided by Wanstor
  • Drive improvement through best practice
  • Be a brand ambassador for Wanstor and the POS Implementation team

About You

  • Experience with POS solutions (preferably Oracle Simphony) in the hospitality or retail sector
  • Experience working on an IT service desk with a strong understanding of LAN, WLAN and WAN networks
