Data Migration Lead - Madrid - £600-700 Per day - Minimum 6 months

SearchDATA Group have partnered with an international data consultancy to deliver a large scale Big-Data project in Madrid and as such are looking to recruit a Data Migration Lead or Manager for a minimum 6 month project. The client is a prominent Financial Services institution that spans both Spain and Portugal.

Due to the amount of team and client interaction, this role will be predominantly based on site in Madrid. However you will have the option of being based in the UK with travel to Madrid on a Monday and returning Friday, with occasional days of remote work.

What you'll do

  • Taking a lead role on contributing to the delivery of data Migration, data warehousing, data integration and master data projects
  • Dealing with senior stakeholders within the bank to gather necessary understanding of business objectives and processes
  • Focussing on identifying the underlying data issues using the right Data Quality tools
  • Providing information, feedback and guidance to the client to support technology-related decision making
  • Consulting and working with technical teams to determine, execute and deliver relevant big data solutions

What you'll bring

  • 10y of experience working on data related projects in a similar environment (banking/financial services)
  • Experience of leading technical teams focused on Data Migration, Data Management, Data Architecture, Master Data Modelling, Data Quality Management, Information Governance
  • Experience of working with tools such as Hadoop / Python / R / Informatica / Spark
  • Experience on a number of data related projects. This needs to include significant experience on stakeholder management , data migration planning and scoping , data migration strategy formulation, data architecture design, ETL design, data quality management and information governance
  • Collaborative team player with good communication skills (English essential and Spanish would be highly beneficial but not mandatory), comfortable, developing presentations and presenting to stakeholders.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Responsible for all business activities related to data migration from legacy systems / databases
  • This includes managing staff who are involved with analysing legacy data, quality check of submitted load files, testing load quality, leading user testing and acceptance of load process, providing input into specifications for automated data migration transformation rules, analysis and identification of duplicate records and other activities required for successful and on time data migration.
  • Key resource for sites and functions providing guidance on the data cleansing and preparation process and standards, and clarification on data standards.
  • Works closely with the client and technical teams to document data migration requirements, on project planning and load scheduling, testing and troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Works closely with Master Data team to ensure master data is ready to support data loads.
  • Coordinates activities to enhance missing key data, making data corrections, confirming duplicates, and mapping master data from stand-alone systems to master data source of truth.
  • Assist change management team with any data migration-specific communications and change management activities

The successful DevSecOps Engineer will be required to:
  • Your primary focus will be to design, build, deliver and monitor a high performing and reliable software system that is both scalable and secure.
  • You will also contribute to the microservices architecture design that is also event driven.
  • You will apply modern software engineering practices to the infrastructure such as continuous delivery, automated testing, infrastructure as code
  • Provide cloud-native platforms to the engineering teams
  • Implement and operate security as defined by CISO and security team
  • Participate in vulnerability management to identify and fix security bugs
  • Integrate security into tool chain to enable effective cyber risk management.
  • Contribute to Site Reliability Operations such as tickets, support, incident response and on-call rota
DevSecOps Engineer Specification:
  • A Software engineering background
  • Technical knowledge of security engineering, authentication and security protocols
  • Experience with security hardening procedures
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, delivering and running production-grade software at scale
