Harvey Nash are exclusively representing a innovative technology player based in Cheshire, who as part of their continued growth they are looking to bring in an Interim Software Development Director to join the existing team and work on and across a market leading set of products/applications. The business has historically grown rapidly and as such find themselves in a position of multiple tech stack, so need a Software Development Director to help develop a unified tech stack across multiple countries

The client is looking for someone who can understand the complexity of estates, but can move the business to a unified platform. Someone who understands a variety of technologies would suit this assignment, but also someone who can pull teams together and drive plan forward.

Tech Stack: It's a beautiful mix of Microsoft stack technology; .NET (inc Core), C#, APIs, SQL Server and a little bit of Python. The business operates in true Agile form with modern software development techniques including Microservices, cloud development/computing, SOLID and much, much more.

The Person: A confident and technical leader who hasn't stepped too far away from technology is the ideal fit for this role, someone who keeps their finger on the pulse of technology. Experience working in a variety of tech stacks across a multitude of devices would be hugely beneficial as nothing is off the table, you have the chance to really take the tech stack by the scruff of the neck; ideally you'll have an understanding of Big Data products such as Hadoop.

The initial engagement will be for 6 months with the view to extend thereafter.

The Role:

You will be part of a team that is the first point of contact offering remote technical security support and managed security services

You will have excellent analytical skills, and be encouraged to work on your own initiative as well as be an integral part of a dynamic team. As part of this role you will be expected to act as a mentor to junior colleagues and ask as an escalation point.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operational tasks with minimal supervision
  • Provide technical security support, advice and further analysis on the vendor products and technologies listed below for our customers infrastructure security needs.
  • the provision of detailed and accurate guidance on the use of client products to support our customer base.
  • effectively interact with other members of the team to provide security solutions to technical issues.

Qualifications / Experience Required:

  • F5 certification
  • Fortinet certification
  • Degree in Security related field
  • 5 years' experience
  • CCSM/CCSE
  • five year's proven experience gained in a technical support or consultancy role in a corporate security support environment
  • Detailed knowledge of Network Security

I am currently recruiting for prestige Parcel company who require ambitious and experienced Final Mile Delivery Manager.

Job purpose:

The Final Mile Delivery Manager first and foremost support the Field Team and ensure that the Courier Teams deliver the customer's parcels.

About the role:

The Final Mile Delivery Managers are the point of contact for the Couriers when they have issues, cannot attend work or need guidance. They ensure that all work that has been allocated has been picked up and delivered by a Courier.  Where this is not the case, they work on finding solutions to ensure that our customers’ delivery is achieved.  They review tracking data to ensure that the Couriers are on track and where relevant, step in to check if there are issues and offer appropriate solutions.   As an agile member of the team, they manage Courier service working out of a number of sub depots within a geographical area.  Courier recruitment and “on-boarding” is also a major part of this role.  Working alongside Compliance Managers they manage/monitor KPI targets and are responsible for cost management/budgeting.

Requirements:

  • The ability to deal with people and conflict
  • The ability to think on your feet and come up with solutions to problems
  • An approachable manner and ‘can do attitude’
  • Our job is for someone who is able to efficiently prioritise pressing needs where there isn’t an obvious solution and provide feedback to the wider business.
  • A good geographical knowledge of the local area
  • An understanding that a role of this type is not your average 9-5 and will involve working on a weekend on a rotation basis
  • Previous experience of managing a team, coaching and interviewing/recruiting people is essential. Please do not apply if you do not have all of this crucial experience
