As a Business Analyst, you'll establish and carry out processes to ensure the alignment of system functionality in business applications to better leverage them to support our businesses. This will include a focus on working with Saint-Gobain UK&I's 32 brands to establish the desired configuration and set-up of the new trading and finance systems, driving the capture of initial data sets and their upload into the relevant system.
Your key responsibilities as a Business Analyst will include:
- Providing system expertise on complicated inter-dependent system functionality, explaining and demonstrating this to other system users on how this has resulted in system optimisation and tangible business benefits.
- Ensuring application areas outlined are updated in a timely and accurate manner, including managing settings that relate to the 1000 branches that make up SGBD (approximately 14,300 branch group applications).
- Managing the settings that support the SGBD Permissions model (circa. 3000 permissions to be applied to circa. 11,000 staff via roles and sub roles and applied by SGTS).
- Coordinating and managing the new workflow engine in ICON and its links to DLAs agreed with business controls and Action.

For the Business Analyst, you will need:
- In-depth working knowledge of a named specialist area of activity within the distribution business, support functions or associated IT systems (e.g.s include Purchase Ledger, Inventory, Telephony, Permission & Securities etc.).
- Highly IT literate and able to quickly grasp new applications and concepts.
- Good communication, presentation and organisation skills, being able to explain complex concepts simply to all levels of a business.
- A full driving license (held for a minimum of 1 year) owing to occasional travel requirements
- Attention to detail and the impacts data accuracy has on the business.
- The ability to work on your own initiative and plan own workload, as well as being a strong team player able to work in cross functional teams.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Outlook.
- 6 months working knowledge of KCS K8.09 systems.
- Systems experience or qualifications - advantageous, but not essential.
