Application Software Engineer
Your experience of carrying out challenging application development Developing user facing apps using web/distributed technologies, along with your strong problem solving skills would make a massive impact with my client. Working for a multi-disciplinary consultancy you will have the opportunity to develop your software skills and also work face to face with clients. You should be comfortable in a quality process driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

*Spend a majority of your time defining, iterating and deploying specialist tools, in small teams, but will need to be able to step up to work collaboratively with our clients, as necessary
*Have responsibility for solving, and potentially leading the development of, challenging software problems in business critical applications
*Be responsible for developing in a web/hybrid environment, adapting to client operating environments.
*Spend some of your time managing projects, systems and client relationships.
If you have experience in any of the following areas then we would like to hear from you:
Skills:

*Developing user facing apps using web/distributed technologies, they could be anything from a client-side Java/Typescript app, ASP .Net driven web app to a backend running on an HPC system.
*Working with, or better implementing, CI/CD pipelines. The more DevOps knowledge you have the better; if you are a master of Jenkins or can leverage Ansible/k8s/Docker then this would be great.
*Some knowledge of software development & maintenance lifecycles, we don't mind what these look like, but agile would be best - we also use waterfall and semi-agile approaches.
*A broader experience or skills in product ownership, test planning, SCRUM leadership.
*Ideally you will have some architectural exposure, and be able to develop file, API and database schemes from the ground up.

We are looking for a Head of Information Security or Chief of Information Security to protect our clients group from cyber security threats, both internal and external.  The role will define and implement an information security strategy, appropriate monitoring and reporting to significantly improve the security posture of the group. This is an ideal role for someone who is looking for a new challenge and to take charge and implement their strategy alongside the Group IT Director. This is a brand new role within the business so there is lots of room to grow into the role.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assessment of Group’s security posture against the NIST Framework.
  • Definition, oversight, implementation and management of the end to end security strategy to reach target maturity level.
  • Ensure Group IT services are adequately protected from internal and external malice.
  • Implementation of security services to maintain confidentiality, integrity and availability of all Group systems and data.
  • Identify and monitor industry trends / threats including their relevance to the technology and real estate sector and how they should be applied within Group.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with enterprise security policies and standards, working in partnership with key compliance roles across the group.
  • Development and maintenance of standards, procedures and guidelines for information security services
  • Manage security services to meet business requirement and SLAs
  • Implement security policies for information sharing on internal and external platforms
  • Oversight and coordination of resilient business protection and continuity planning including security incident crisis management practices.
  • Strong and collaborative relationships with Business Leads and IT peers

  • Security incident / breach frequency and impact.
  • IT solution designs are designed with security in mind
  • Leadership and management of major security incidents

Our Client is a Global leader in the development of solutions, systems and applications for the defence and commercial markets. They have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team at their Fareham site.

*Contribute to the design and development of the NG's flagship software suite on C4I domains
*Resolution of customer incidents as well as internal reported issues.
*Take responsibility for the Implementation of Software up to and including handover to the Integration test phase;
*Carry out Unit Testing of code as required;
*Assist with document and code reviews of other engineers' work;
*Perform Usage Tests and Directed Tests on software developed by other engineers, generate test reports and raise system trouble reports;
*Perform Integration and/or Regression testing analysis on software, as required by the project;
*Take responsibility for ensuring tasks are completed on schedule and within budget;
*Investigate software defects and perform bug fixes from system trouble reports;
*Be familiar with and use software development tools available in the company;
