About the team

PwC Senior Associates in the Digital Forensics & eDiscovery team have experience of helping clients in crisis. They apply cutting edge techniques to solve complex problems and apply smart data-driven solutions to our client’s issues. As part of our team, you could be detecting fraud, insider trading or employee misconduct, or working alongside lawyers on litigations and regulatory matters.

We are ready to respond to crisis events all over the world. We specialise in forensically capturing and understanding huge volumes of unstructured data such as e-mails, Office documents and instant chat messages which can be collected from computers, servers, the Cloud and smartphones or tablets. We rely on these data sources to answer questions like who spoke to whom? How well did these people know each other? What did a person know, and when?

You will work on multiple concurrent and high profile projects and work alongside recognised industry specialists in computer forensics, data analytics, information management, electronic discovery, and disclosure. You will develop your network and build strong relationships with clients and senior members of the team.

In the UK alone we have more than 65 technology practitioners working from dedicated secure forensic laboratories in Belfast, Birmingham, Leeds and London.

PwC UK is also home to one of three PwC & Google Innovation Labs. Along with New York and Sydney, we are now acknowledged as a global location where organisations can access the PwC and Google collaborative experience to co-create solutions to their digital and business challenges.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for

  • Leading the data scoping and capture parts of engagements, utilising your experience, applying best practice methodology and working directly with clients, their IT contacts / teams and third parties as necessary.
  • Completing the necessary documentation to the appropriate standards.
  • Updating and liaising with more senior team members appropriately.
  • Coaching junior team members on data acquisition tools and techniques.
  • Assisting with evidence and lab management.
  • Remaining abreast of the latest developments affecting our work and researching and testing new tools and techniques.

Once a member of the Digital Forensics & eDiscovery team, you will also gain exposure to, and receive training in, other aspects of the EDRM such as data processing in Nuix, and data review in tools such as Relativity and Brainspace.

Requirements

If you are naturally inquisitive, confident in unexpected situations and enjoy solving problems, we would be interested in talking to you. Candidates should also be prepared to travel, as many of our opportunities will require team members to work at client sites across the UK or overseas. You will need

  • A 2.1 degree or above in a Technology related discipline e.g. Computer Science, Software Engineering, Maths, Physics, Computer Forensics or Artificial Intelligence, or demonstrate that you have relevant work experience.
  • Strong logical reasoning, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • To be technically minded, with knowledge of PC hardware (e.g. components, networks) and software (e.g. various operating systems).

In addition to the above, you will also need to have relevant work experience in Computer Forensics or eDiscovery, which could include experience of a number of the following

  • Performing data scoping exercises to work with clients and their IT teams to discover and document the data landscape.
  • Imaging desktop and laptop computers using one or more data collection tools, e.g. EnCase, FTK, and X-Ways, or using live imaging tools and techniques.
  • Extraction of data from Cloud-based systems such as Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft Office 365, or Google Mail.
  • Imaging servers, virtual servers, RAID arrays, NAS devices.
  • Imaging mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets.
  • Backup systems, including tape, virtual tape and virtual server backups.
  • The eDiscovery process and in particular the skills to consult with clients on the data collection stage of the EDRM life cycle.
  • Data query and programming languages, such as SQL, C#, VBA and/or Python.

Desirable

  • EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), FTK ACE certification, Cellebrite Certified Mobile Examiner (CCME), or equivalent certifications.
  • Wider experience of the eDiscovery process and EDRM would be advantageous.

This short term business travel (STBT) role is based within the Global Immigration team. The team is responsible for various corporate clients' global immigration compliance.

Business travellers in particular can trigger certain risks to companies. This role is to support the STBT immigration compliance program. You will work closely with clients to ensure that their business traveller population are compliant from an immigration and EU posted worker directive perspective.

Your day to day role will include

  • Supporting the implementation of PwC's STBT tool, myTrips, as a key immigration and PWD SME
  • Leading knowledge update projects for immigration and PWD

Our Change Management Technical Solutions is experiencing continuous success and growth. As part of this growth, we are seeking to recruit experienced Testers to work with our software development teams to provide QA support to the development teams to automate tests to guide development. Each project is different, but typically you can expect to be working on the following

  • Requirements analysis and validation
  • Defining and executing test strategies and scripts

Location

You will be based in Belfast, however as a result of the wide variety of clients and projects, you may be asked to work in other locations within the UK and beyond, sometimes at short notice and sometimes over lengthy periods of time. Your desire and ability to do this will be discussed as part of the recruitment process. Candidates who are unable or do not wish to work on projects in other locations will still be considered.

About the role

Our Change Management Technical Solutions is experiencing continuous success and growth. As part of this growth, we are seeking to recruit experienced Testers to work with our software development teams to provide QA support to the development teams to automate tests to guide development. Each project is different, but typically you can expect to be working on the following

  • Requirements analysis and validation
  • Defining and executing test strategies and scripts
  • Ensuring requirements traceability
  • Introducing/suggesting new processes and techniques
  • Accurate recording and monitoring of issues
  • Reviewing test environments configuration and processes to facilitate continuous improvement and maintenance of quality standards
  • Providing test estimates
  • Developing and updating automated test scripts to match requirements
  • UX/UI testing / Regression testing
  • Creating test plans, cases, and scripts based on business requirements and technical specifications
  • Executing manual and automated testing cycles, coordinating efforts with external teams
  • Documenting test results, and compiling results into consolidated high level reports

Who we are looking for Essential Criteria

  • Experience as a Test Analyst
  • Strong background in software integration and system testing
  • Has led testing in multi-technology transformation projects
  • Experience in driving script-writing and testing
  • Experience in SIT Testing
  • Experience in performance testing.
  • Experience of automated testing (e.g, Selenium)
  • Experience using HP QC / JIRA or comparable platforms
  • Experience of defining test strategy / test approach
  • Flexible, independent and self-motivated
  • Experience in supporting team success and motivating others to keep morale and performance high
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong experience of iterative / incremental software delivery
  • Knowledge of some test frameworks and solutions to manage complexity
  • Experience of working in fast paced environments to strict deadlines
  • Bachelor’s Degree or HNC in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience
  • ISTQB Foundation Certification

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of testing ERP software, particularly, Oracle E-Business Suite.

Location

You will be based in Belfast, however as a result of the wide variety of clients and projects, you may be asked to work in other locations within the UK and beyond, sometimes at short notice and sometimes over lengthy periods of time. Your desire and ability to do this will be discussed as part of the recruitment process. Candidates who are unable or do not wish to work on projects in other locations will still be considered.
