ITS Resourcing are working with a fast-growing managed services provider near Worcester, who are looking to source a Senior IT Support Engineer (3rd line).

The role will be working alongside a team of support staff providing on the phone and remote desktop services support to external customers.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who is looking to become more experienced up to a 3rd line level and get additional experience with server and networking technologies.

Role responsibilities

  • Provision of 3rd line support for incoming IT related issues, taking escalated calls from junior support colleagues
  • Troubleshooting and resolving IT related problems on software and hardware, Servers, Firewalls, Routers, and associated network technologies
  • Provide advanced support on Office, Windows Server, Active Directory, O365 & Win10 liaising with suppliers where necessary.
  • Provide a single point of contact for customers, taking the support issue until point of resolution
  • Providing telephone, remote desktop services and external site support (where required)
  • Provide an excellent level of customer service to internal and external customers

Experience required

  • A proven background in IT support, either having solid 3rd line experience in previous employment
  • Experience supporting and administering Microsoft Server, Exchange, Active Directory (inc. Group Policy), Firewalls, Backup and DR solutions and General Networking
  • Applicable accreditations would be advantageous

Monday – Friday, 7.5hrs per day.

Service Delivery Coordinator

Reporting to: Service Delivery Department Manager

Location: Southend on Sea, Essex

Salary: £20,000 - £22,000 per annum

To support the Service Delivery Department Manager daily, and to co-ordinate all administration procedures for the Service Delivery Department relevant to the delivery teams reporting to the position & acting as the link for the sales department.

Duties:

  • Ensure that the company values of Honesty, Ownership and Respect are personally demonstrated in day to day interactions with colleagues and customers alike, also that the importance of these values are embedded within the compliance teams in lines of reporting.
  • Receive sales job leads from designated Technical Sales Consultant and contact customer within 2 working days.
  • Pass sales job leads to Service Delivery Department Manager for Programming on master program.
  • Instruct stores for special order/hire items in a timely manner
  • Raise sub-contract purchase orders and laboratory analysis orders for authorization ensuring that prices are within budgeted costs.
  • Contact clients to book in or move service delivery start/finish dates, confirm by email and prepare and send all required contract correspondence (security clearance, method statements, risk assessments etc.) as the jobs progress through to completion.
  • Ensure that the order acknowledgement is accurate and sent to customers by email prior to staff being sent to site.
  • Prepare job pack paperwork for supervisors and/or issue work instructions via GeoPal.
  • Monitor & liaise with relevant supervisors on a daily basis to receive feedback on job progression/issues and advise Service Delivery Department Manager on any forward program changes/requirements.
  • Ensure that weekly program is updated to cater for any changes prior to wage calculations by noon each Tuesday.
  • Respond to initial wage queries from compliance staff in lines reporting and only escalate where it is felt that wages have not been correctly calculated.
  • Resolve service delivery related issues where possible or refer to Regional Supervisor or line manager as appropriate when unsure to request advice.
  • Ensure that supervisors return post clean paperwork including pre & post clean digital photos in a timely manner and that performance logging is recorded.
  • Produce and send certificate for completed works for the previous week.
  • Liaise with laboratory ensuring analysis and return of test results in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that post clean reports are completed within 5 days of job completion and performance logging is recorded.
  • Establish priority of action on incoming calls and ensure that subsequent actions are carried out or notified to the appropriate person.
  • Typing required by the department, ensuring house letter style is adhered to.
  • Ensure that records of activity/customer conversations are recorded on Prospect in real time and clear lead action list daily.
  • Each week identify and pass files of completed jobs by relevant teams to accounts department for invoicing. By the 3rd working day following month end ensure that all completed job files are handed to accounts for month end invoicing including invoicing of work in progress.

The successful engineers will be required to start early March for approximately 8 - 12 weeks

Training will be provided, engineers must be available the week before their start date to complete their training

Details of the role:

  • Script based EPOS upgrades and installation
  • Work will be 1 large site per day OR multiple smaller sites - throughout your centralised area - may be occasional travel out of area
  • Engineers will be provided with a van (business use only) to complete daily / weekly PUDO collections
  • Monday to Friday day work
  • 8am - 6pm (onsite 9am)
  • Expectation of 4-5 days work per week per engineer
  • Engineers required to complete retailer H&S Online Course


Required skillset:

  • MUST have previous IT hardware, EPOS or ATM background
  • Must have a full UK Driving license
  • Must have standard engineering toolkit, PPE etc.
  • Must be able to pass vetting (which will include a criminal history and credit check)


Rate details

  • £120 per shift
  • Engineer rate is an all-inclusive rate, no expenses i.e. parking, mileage etc are not claimable
  • All rates are based on an average of a 10 hour day (including travel) over the duration of the project and an average of 120 miles per day over duration of project
