We're looking for talented Capacity Managers to join DWP Digital's growing community of experts.
As a Capacity Manager, you will manage the capacity of Digital Services and its environments, taking account of capacity and performance limits for all components of the service. It's a key role for one of the biggest and highest-profile digital transformation programmes in the world.

You and your role:
DWP Capacity Managers support the protection of live service, monitor the status of live service and uses knowledge and expertise to enable effective capacity management impacts to be visible to the 24/7 Command Centre, Operational Areas, Service Managers and the Service Desk at any given time.
You will facilitate and manage capacity related incidents and related communications through tracking, prioritising problems and operating between the Command Centre and other digital services to ensure services are quickly and safely restored with the smallest possible business impact.

You've got lots of experience of capacity manager, so you know what the role looks like and how to do it. But you might not have delivered in an environment like this, at a scale like this, or with a use group like ours.
What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?
* You have worked in a Capacity Management function where you have managed service components to ensure they meet business needs and performance targets.
* You have ITIL certification (or equivalent) and can demonstrate Service Management Frame-work experience in the Service Operations function (Event, Incident, Problem, Change, Re-lease, Capacity, ITSCM and CSI).
* You have a working knowledge of main IT infrastructure and maintenance functions required of large, complex and highly integrated systems including the principles of maintaining a large and complex IT estate and the associated risks.
* You have experience implementing, applying and governing Capacity Management standards and procedures in a large complex environment.
* You can communicate effectively across all operational levels of the organisation as well as with suppliers and customers.

Your role will be based in your choice of our easy-to-reach digital hubs in Manchester, Newcastle, or Blackpool.

We are recruiting at 2 different levels (Capacity Manager and Senior Capacity Manager).
In return for your skills we offer competitive salary and a brilliant Civil Service pension with employer contributions circa 27%, generous annual leave.
The salary for the Capacity Manager role is from £34,448 to £39,674.
The salary for the Senior Capacity Manager role is from £47,971 to £58,135.
