Main Responsibilities

About you and your role:

You're an experienced Test Engineer with the skills and knowledge to lead, shape, and guide multiple performance test teams, developing the performance test strategy across a flagship government programme. You will also work with our technical leads and other performance testers to ensure we deliver with quality, pace and value. We value collaboration on our multi-disciplinary teams. You will work with developers, testers, user researchers and policy and subject matter experts. We automate as much as possible, and value our manual testers and automation testers equally.

Can you work through the whole Software Development Lifecycle including road mapping? You'll review and develop stories in collaboration with our developers, ensuring that test coverage is appropriate and that we're using the right tools at the right time. You will also identify and write the automated tests, and develop approaches to performance testing. At DWP our Senior Test Engineers identify and write the performance test scenarios and identify and analyse the potential performance bottlenecks, as well as providing performance monitoring on different architecture layers.
