2020 looks to be another big year for DevOps. By 2023, experts expect the DevOps market to triple in size compared to 2018. This brings a lot of positives: Cutting edge technology, New certifications and Variety. However how many opportunities can offer all 3 to a competitive standard? This role working with an award winning digital consultancy can.

The roles are part of an ongoing recruitment drive with a focus on building a strong DevOps team, but importantly a DevOps culture throughout the business. You will be tasked with working on client site with various members of the business to deliver digital solutions on an enterprise level. In terms of clients, you will work closely with public sector and private sector.

Cutting Edge Technology:
My client prides themselves on being able to use cutting edge technology to deliver ground breaking solutions. To do so they look to use the right tool for the job. This could be working with multiple cloud platforms in AWS and Azure whilst using Kubernetes and Terraform.

New Certifications:
You will look to achieve the following certifications:
CKAD/CKA
AWS/Azure Certified DevOps Engineer
AWS/Azure Certified Developer

Variety:
No one wants to be stuck on the same support work for months on end. That's why as a consultant, no two days will be the same. However there are a few responsibilities that will remain consistent. Working on: CI/CD pipelines, Cloud Architecture, Containers, Automation and Configuration Management. In addition to being hands on, you will have the opportunity to grow the DevOps practice and establish a agile team.

But enough about the company and the role. This, like any good advert, should be about you and what you need to bring to the table in order to progress this application. Therefore my client has highlighted the following skills:

  • Containerisation - Experience with Docker is essential, including the use of container orchestration with Kubernetes or Docker Swarm
  • Cloud - AWS/Azure/GCP
  • Configuration Management Tools - Experience using at least one of the following: Puppet, Chef, Terraform, Ansible
  • Software Engineering - Experience with any object orientated programming language is preferred.
  • Leadership/Stakeholder management - Managing large scale teams whilst working closely with C-Level stakeholders.

In return, you will benefit from a highly networked and very flat structured organisation. This means that people with an Entrepreneurial self-managed approach can really contribute to the strategic direction of the practice and be heard. In terms of package, my client can offer a competitive salary (between £70,000 - £85,000) alongside a non-contributory pension (10%), Bonus (10%-15%) private health care and 1 Day remote work.

So if this advert has been short enough to make you think 'I want this job' then why not apply? To do so, please use the following...
