Job Description

Who is Lloyds Banking Group?

We're the UK’s largest Digital, Retail and Commercial Bank with a focus on Helping Britain Prosper. We’re innovating products that help transform customer journeys – making millions of people’s lives simpler and better, all over the country, every single day. There’s never been a better time to be part of change – help us reinvent the boundaries of banking, and we’ll invest in your continued development, so you can craft your future career. We're committed to employing a diverse and inclusive workforce, reflective of the customers and communities we serve – where all our colleagues can be themselves and succeed on merit.

About Model Risk and Validation (MRAV) team at Lloyds

MRAV is an independent team within Risk responsible for the review and approval of all the models used in the Group, as well as maintaining the wider Model Risk framework. MRAV has a very wide remit, from the regulatory models that support our capital permissions through to customer, impairment, market risk and forecasting models. The digitisation of the Bank, a key pillar of GSR3, is growing the prevalence of models in LBG, often for tasks not previously considered suitable for models, and MRAV are a part of this.

Job Title: Manager, Model Risk and Validation (MRAV)

Salary: £62, 298 - £69, 220 (London)

Location: 125 London Wall, London, EC2Y 5AS

The role will give you responsibility for independent model review and validation, with a specific focus on models employing Advanced Analytics techniques, such as Machine Learning. The scope of application of models is very wide, covering all areas of the bank, and as such the role also provides a superb opportunity to build a strong network of contacts.

We are looking for someone with an ability to communicate and influence on complex issues, verbally and in writing, across all key partner groups. You’ll embed strong ethics and integrity into the heart of every decision, and build an environment that encourages high performance, openness, honesty and integrity.

The ideal experience, skills and background:

You’ll have significant experience in this area of modelling, with an ability to consider these models from the point of view of the reviewer rather than the model builder. Knowledge of the wider risks associated with models of this type, such as explainability and the fairness of customer treatments, is also desirable.
