A growing renewable energy company based in Edinburgh has a new opportunity to join the organisation as a Systems Engineer on a permanent basis where you will maintain, improve and strengthen IT Systems and support business growth aspirations to achieve a scalable model as the company continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

*Manage, monitor and administrate the day to day operation of key business systems
*Project manage IT projects of varying size across the business (i.e. new system implementation)
*Monitor and test application performance, identify possible improvements and work with suppliers to implement approved changes
*Improve business productivity by analysing existing systems to develop, propose and lead efficiency and automation-based projects
*Ensure the highest levels of availability and increase the reliability of the IT infrastructure
*Ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. ISO27001, NIS Directive)
*Play a key role in the development of the Information Security Management System
*Set the standard for new ways of working including championing best IT practices to maximise productivity across the business
*Play a key role in the testing and improvement of the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity procedures
*Work with external experts to conduct annual cyber security audits

Skills/experience required:

*Experience with Windows and Linux Operating Systems
*Networking (WAN, LAN and MPLS)
* Knowledge of Cyber Security
*Cloud experience (preferably Azure)
* Virtualisation experience would be highly desirable
*Experience of managing IT projects
*Identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects
*Highly motivated to deliver results and go the extra mile to meet deadlines

The Integration Developer will design, build and maintain ESB infrastructure, artefacts and objects, documentation, unit testing and provide guidance to other team members and business users

Role Responsibilities…

  • Ensure that coding standards are defined and adhered to
  • Create robust best practise development techniques
  • Ensure that non-functional requirements are considered including performance and accessibility considerations
  • Optimise the performance of the code
  • Perform code reviews with junior developers
  • Setup and manage development environments
  • Work closely with 3rd party suppliers to ensure smooth handover of code and ongoing maintenance
  • Work closely with the architecture team to ensure adherence to architectural strategy
