On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a SharePoint Subject Matter Expert for a 6-month contract based in London.

Purpose of the Role:

The role is to take on the responsibility for the management and creation of sites in SharePoint 2013. Experience in SharePoint site administration is key with deep understanding of the out of the box capabilities.

In addition, the successful applicant will work closely with the business stakeholders and developers in defining requirements and testing for new functionalities.

As a SharePoint Subject Matter Expert you will be responsible for:

  • Manage the day to day running of the SharePoint 2013 Intranet Platform
  • Create and configure sites utilising both out of the box and custom webparts.
  • Configuration of SharePoint 2013 Search including CSWP, Result sources and Query rules
  • Analyse, define and scope requirements for new functionalities as part of the on-going migration and development of the Intranet
  • Develop the information architecture and wireframes in collaboration with the business stakeholders, Head of Intranet and agencies where appropriate
  • Working closely with developers to deliver technical solutions
  • Plan, co-ordinate and perform testing for new code releases to ensure the solutions meet business demand
  • Liaise with vendors who maintain SharePoint Servers and manage central admin as part of a software as a service agreement
  • Log, analyse, and troubleshoot technical issues, following the process through to resolution and reporting on progress and findings to relevant stakeholders
  • Refer issues to suppliers (internal and external) as appropriate and communicate with suppliers to support resolution
  • Manage the reporting or usage statistics through a 3rd party tool, building and customising reports as required
  • Design and deliver training for individuals or groups using the Intranet platform

Essential Skills

  • Expert knowledge of SharePoint's functional capabilities and familiarity with SharePoint 2013
  • This knowledge should include - Custom list creation, Permission Management, Page Creation and Publishing, Accessing SharePoint Web Analytics, search driven content.
  • Experience of SharePoint Configuration/Customisation in an Intranet Context
  • Experience with SharePoint tools and Features - Designer, Workflows, Managed Metadata, Content Types
  • Experience and knowledge of Agile methodology and concepts

Desirable Skills

  • Some experience with SharePoint 2013 upgrade, online or cloud migration
  • Some experience using .NET development to extend the capabilities of SharePoint based applications
  • Good understanding of HTML/CSS/XML/XSLT
  • Solid experience in web design and information architecture
