We are one of the world's leading botanic gardens, we are at the forefront of plant and fungal science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major visitor attraction. Purpose of the Role:

Our client's Application Services team is responsible for the development, support and maintenance of several key RISK applications and is organised into several multidisciplinary squads. Within each squad are all the capabilities required to deliver the full scope of change with minimal dependency on other teams.

Operating under the SAFe Agile methodology with a three-month Program Increment (PI) and two week sprints the squads follow all the ceremonies typical of Scrum and SAFE.

As an Application Services Scrum Master you will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the Application Services Product Owner to ensure a high level of quality and preparation in advance of the Program Increment planning sessions
  • Organise the releases (sprints) in line with the high-level roadmap managed by the Application Services Product Owner
  • Provide input and feedback at cross-team/cross-squad PI sync meetings
  • Organise and run the agile team ceremonies to reach an efficient (self-)organisation
  • Ensure a stable and satisfying delivery pace at all times
  • Manage development resources to have the right person in front of each item to be delivered
  • Set up sprint retrospectives and demos and contribute to the arrangements for system demos as and when required to do so
  • Proactively manage risks and issues which will impact the quality or timeliness of sprint delivery objectives for each squad liaising with other RISK ERA Systems resources - eg database experts, architects
  • Act as a coach/mentor for the team

What we require from the candidate:

  • Demonstrable relevant experience with IT/data management background
  • Certification in Scrum or SAFe
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile methodology frameworks - ideally Scrum
  • Strong knowledge of development processes and procedures
  • Sound knowledge of JIRA and its plugins
  • Fluency with all MS Office tools
  • Investment Banking experience would be of benefit
  • French language skills are also desirable
