We are looking for a Lead Scala Developer to work within an existing Scrum team based in Shipley, Yorkshire. Teams work collaboratively to build robust microservices using the Play framework and Scala. There is an emphasis on functional programming style and TDD. We are looking for candidates who enjoy sharing their expertise with the team and providing further support to the more junior members.

What you'll be doing:

  • Scala, with an appreciation of its functional capabilities.
  • A modern MVC framework (Play, Vert.x,Rails, ASP.NET MVC, SpringMVC)
  • Test Driven Development (TDD). You'll see unit testing as essential.

What we're looking for:

  • Knowledge and experience of using Git Linux (the command line is your friend)
  • You will have mentored and coached less experienced developers Experience in leading investigative work into problems at a senior level, driving the collection of information and creation of recommendations for improvements
  • Pair daily with like-minded and highly skilled people
  • You'll assist in architecting systems and applications
  • Working as part of an Agile team collaborating with team members in every role
