Burtons Biscuits is on a journey to ensure it Bakeries are as streamlined and efficient as possible, you will take the lead of reviewing the current use of our inhouse manufacturing system ‘Stevens’ at our Livingston & Arran locations. You will get some excellent real life experience and leading projects, stakeholder engagement and been able to see the positive influence you are having across the bakery and the group.

Working alongside a number of key stakeholders within the Engineering & IS functions, you will ensure that individuals are getting the most from the current set up, but also working to ensure that the bakery is reaching its full potential and embedding the manufacturing system & solutions further.

Part of this role will see you complete the integration and get the ‘Stevens’ system live at our smaller Arran bakery, as your knowledge with ‘Stevens’ grows, there could be an opportunity to roll this system out across one of our major and large scale bakeries in Edinburgh. What experience is needed in this role?

We are looking for individuals to have already completed a relevant degree in a suitable subject across Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing etc. You will need to have great communication skills as this role will be split between working in an office and getting onto the bakery floor to speak, interact and train key stakeholders.

You’ll need to have an interest in manufacturing systems, automation etc.

You don’t need to have experience of working in a similar role before, as this may suit someone looking for their first role in industry, but any evidence of completing relevant work experience (internship etc), degree projects or writing dissertations around software & systems within manufacturing would be highly preferable.
