Our Information Services (or IT) division underpins everything Anglian Water does in the business, right through from gathering business intelligence to our contact centre technology. As well as maintaining and upgrading our systems to 'keep the lights on', they design, build and deliver new systems which will allow us to be an innovative water company of the future. Working closely with our partners, they help to ensure a seamless IT service is delivered to our employees.

The role is outlined below but if you'd like to ask any questions about the position, or find out more about what you may be doing on a day to day basis before applying then please don't hesitate to give either Vanessa Lavender () or Jo Luck () a call to find out more.

What will you be doing?

We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for an experienced Analyst to join our Information Services (IS) department in Huntingdon. Reporting to the IS Commercial and Performance Manager you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving our current systems to ensure that we have robust cost management and outperformance tracking for all our IS framework contracts. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly, close-knit and high performing team and work with leading IT commercial models.

As the Framework, Cost & Assurance Analyst you'll work collaboratively with our IS Alliance partners to ensure that the current IS Alliance commercial models regarding project performance are tracked and managed effectively. This will involve updating various tracker models as well as developing and improving existing cost tracking and management processes and tools. You'll also be required to analyse data and develop reports that highlight variations in project costs as well as highlighting any risk and opportunities for the various commercial models.

Additionally, you'll be key to validating monthly costs for our outsourced IT main run contract, working with suppliers and key AWS personnel to ensure invoices get paid on time.

You'll also help support the team on cost assurance and contract review and in turn they will support you to get the most out of your role.

What do you need?

With previous experience in an analysis type role you'll have an understanding of data evaluation combined with the ability to contextualise data and identify potential cost efficiencies. You'll possess strong communication skills with experience of building trust with and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.

You'll be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications; in particular you'll have advanced Excel skills as all models are currently Excel based. Knowledge of other database, modelling and reporting tools such as PowerBI would be advantageous, as would a knowledge of SAP.

You'll be a self-starter with the ability to work on your own initiative but will be equally comfortable working as part of a team. You'll have attention to detail, be reliable and, not be afraid to explore and question established ways of working and suggest improvements.

What benefits do we offer?

Being a successful water company doesn't come easy! Our people are important to us and we want to make sure that we reward and recognise all of the great work that they do. Some of our benefits include:

  • Bonus scheme
  • Private health care
  • Competitive pension scheme
  • 26 days annual leave rising with length of service
  • Flexible benefits to support your wellbeing
  • Flexible working (dependent on your role)
  • Plus lots more!

To create a fairer, less hierarchical organisation that is not driven by grades and seniority but values the expertise and skills that our Employees bring, Anglian Water has introduced a new role framework. This role is considered a Subject Matter Expert on this internal role framework.

We are passionate and committed to the learning and development of our people making sure they have the right skills and knowledge to be successful and to help achieve their potential. We also take Health and Safety very seriously in everything that we do.

If you are offered a job with us, you'll be subject to the relevant/standard employment checks, including: your right to work in the UK, reference, driving licence and identity check. Depending on your role, you may also be subject to further pre-employment checks.
