Master of Malt is a leading online drinks retailer, with a particular passion for whisky, gin and other premium spirits.  Where our true passion lies, however, is in delivering extraordinary drinks experiences. This is less about flogging bottles and more about the process; how we aid learning and discovery, etc. It’s about connecting people with every drinks-related experience that can be conceived of, in the most delightful way imaginable.

This is our mission: to shorten the distance to amazing drinks experiences

We're an innovative and fast-paced business, working tirelessly to disrupt an industry we love.   Driven by an incredible team, we’re dedicated to four key values: The experience matters, we challenge everything, we speak the truth, and we own it.

This is a truly exciting time to join our amazing company and to be a leader in how we build out the experience for our customers.

About this role
Too many businesses think customer service is just about answering the phone and responding to an email within 5 days. At Master of Malt, there is so much more! Our service team is responsible for a range of crucial functions that make our business tick and keep our customers happy.

We're looking for a Manager to look after our small but mighty Trade Service team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.    You'll learn a whole lot about whisky, gin and other spirits, dispatch and logistics, international shipping compliance, handling fraudulent orders, marketing & event support + more!    You'll be responsible for setting the tone for the team, which is one of positivity, communication, dedication, support and hard work.  Primary tasks will include:

  • Motivate and support your team to consistently provide a superior customer experience with a customer-centric approach.

  • Ensure accurate dispatch and successful delivery of orders, including paperwork for export orders.

  • Delegate tasks to the team and ensure successful completion on a daily basis.

  • Provide departmental framework to ensure a structured environment which enables delivery on clear expectations.

  • Spearhead the development of new procedures and policies that streamline the working day.

  • Ensure staff are appropriately trained.

  • Work alongside the Retail Manager to ensure constant communication and support across the teams.

About you
We're looking for a positive, enthusiastic team player who is fanatical about customer service and supporting others.   Required skills, experience and attributes include:

  • Experience managing or supervising an in-bound Customer Service team, including recruitment, training,  rotas, shift patterns etc.

  • Highly disciplined, self-motivated, and always willing to go the extra mile.

  • Comfortable with autonomy in a fast-paced and changing environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate at all levels -  to deliver on the day to day, represent the team in senior forums etc.

  • Logical, analytical and lateral thinking

  • IT literate - ideally G Suite.

It would be great if you have:

  • Some kind of drinks industry experience.

  • eCommerce experience or experience working in a Retail or Trade fulfillment setting.

Why work for us?

Other than the standard benefits you expect to see from a business like ours (think pension, cycle-2-work scheme, free eye care vouchers) we also offer…

Flexible working - we’re focused on productivity and will work with you to make sure you’re happy with how you work.
Free food - a hungry worker is not a happy worker. We stock our kitchens with what you need to get you through the day.
Free fancy coffee - George Clooney endorsed, no less...
A relaxed working environment - there are no suits and ties here (unless you insist).
A challenge - the opportunity to make a difference to the future of the business. It is our people who put us in the 2017 Sunday Times Fast Track 100.
Personal Days - 7 completely flexible personal days on top of your annual leave, because we all need a duvet day from time to time.
A healthy staff discount - on our world-class range. Just in case that makes a difference.
(Un)healthy irreverence - National pizza/doughnut/pie/lemonade/etc day? We got it covered.

Bleach is the home of experimental hair. Founded in 2010, we’ve built an engaged community (346K+ Instagram followers), gained recognition from the industry (Vogue, ID, Dazed), and sell through a range partners, including Selfridges, Boots and Sephora. More recently, we’ve raised a significant funding round to bring the brand to life online.

We have ambitious plans to create a consumer experience which is unlike anything that exists today in the world of online direct-to-consumer retail. This will involve engaging creative content being combined with a consultation-led purchase flow, so that customers are entertained as well as educated as they benefit from our assistance and expertise on their personal hair journey.

As a team (of 7 in a company of ~30) we’ll be working on four main projects: creative & conversational interfaces, e-commerce flows, data pipelines, and systems integrations. We're partnered with an awesome team of data scientists and data pipeline engineers, and need an experienced Ruby developer to own the implementation of a number of our core APIs & backend services. You'll have owned the implementation of an API before. Experience of implementing a GraphQL server would be a bonus.

Additional bonus points for:

* MongoDB
* Event-driven architectures
* Neo4j (or graph databases in general)
* Experience of working with data pipeline engineers (ability to write Python as well as Ruby would be the cherry on top)

No agencies please.  You must have the right to live and work in the UK.

Dear Co-Founder / CPO

FlexPay Solutions is a niche start-up aiming to provide a financial alternative for those seeking to eradicate unfavourable overdraft terms by offering an innovative financial solution for its customers.

General interest rates of 35-40% for all overdraft users have/will become reality until the 6th April 2020, with increasing cost for previously arranged overdraft users with reliable credit histories. FlexPay Solutions offers a secure and automated digital alternative avoiding bureaucratic credit applications with expensive and longer-lasting credit alternatives (e.g. payday).

We connect overdraft customers to build up personal low-interest overdraft facilities by optimising different paydays and counter-cyclical cash flows for customers with solid overdraft histories. In the UK today, 26m Brits use overdraft facilities each year, 19m of which use arranged overdraft. The majority of arranged overdraft users require £250 for 7 days in 8 out of 12 months. Our users are given the chance to circulate liquidity on-demand to significantly reduce credit charges at both ends.

If you’re interested in changing the cost structure and business model dictated by banks, FlexPay Solutions offers a chance to become an integral stakeholder in a rapidly expanding sector. We are seeking a hands-on Co-Founder & CPO (Chief Product Officer) to join me and the CTO to structure and execute the on-going technology build. We offer a fair share of equity as you’ll optimally lead the product development, marketing strategy & operations workstreams in a team of 3 founders.

Optimally, you will bring the following experiences:

  • Proven track record in defining credit products
  • Experience in bringing a credit product to market
  • Knowledge of legal requirements to launch a debt product
  • Strategy experience in FinTech solutions and customer acquisition
  • Lending or risk management experience
  • Previous ownership of different workstreams & teams
  • Creation of marketing roadmaps and growth models

Eventually:

  • Operations and team-building experiences
  • Well connected to the FinTech world and previous funding experience

If you consider yourself a good fit for identifying technological opportunities around Open Banking and future business models in the short-term lending market coupled with business and commercial operations and would like to grow a business and share an outlook to making a material impact in the Financial Services sector, please express your interest and we will respond to every suitable applicant.

Thank you!

Who we are

Lemon Learning is a fast-growing technology startup. We work with major international organizations and stock market leaders: Randstad, BNP Paribas, Allianz, Altran, KPMG, Renault Group, PSA, Nexity, Martin Brower, Air Liquide, Système U...) and support over one million users worldwide.

Our ambition is to be the European leader in the field of digital adoption platforms. We quickly recruit talented and ambitious profiles around three key values: innovation, commercial efficiency and a customer-centric approach.

At the heart of our project is our belief in active learning through doing, rather than passive training. Lemon Learning accelerates user adoption by integrating directly in users’ everyday applications to offer them in-app guidance and boost their productivity. This method digitizes e-learning video training and PDF operating modes. We create training courses in SAAS software (such as Salesforce, Office 365 or Google Suite) and in digital tools developed in-house.

Our team is young, multi-talented and passionate. Our offices are located in the heart of Paris, boulevard de Sébastopol.

What matters to us:

- Offer you a very good onboarding

- Give you the material and human resources to succeed

- Enable you to work in an environment focused on excellence

- Create a good working atmosphere

Job Description

To sustain their exponential growth and as part of their globalization strategy, Lemon Learning is looking for new talents to help them grow their business and conquer new markets worldwide. As a Country Manager at Lemon Learning, your role will be to develop our business in the United Kingdom. 90% of this position consists of sales missions and 10% of operations and strategy management.

In five years, Lemon Learning has become a leader in France on the new and thriving Digital Adoption Platform market, standing out against competitors with longstanding or successful fundraising experience. We owe it all to our very unique customer-centric culture, our innovative product and sales excellence.

Your role will be to duplicate this success story in the United Kingdom. Your role will be similar to the one of a Startup Founder:  alone and very sales oriented at first, you will have to grow the business to its maximum, and than hire and manage a team as you grow the operations. You will have to grow the business locally, i.e. develop a new client portfolio, recruit and manage staff, monitor performance, develop key strategic partnerships, increase brand awareness at local trade fairs and events, and many more!

You will be under the direct supervision of the Lemon Learning CEO, based in France. You will have to bootstrap a lot of things and be savvy on your approach, but you will be able to count on the ressources, dedication, and expertise of the French teams. A budget is planned for a few trade shows, coworking space, and one or more interns.

Onboarding and roadmap:

Month 1 (in Paris / accommodation provided):

- Sales training in France

- Product training

- Technical training

Goal: help you become an expert on our sales methodology, so that you will be able to replicate it in London.

Month 2 to 9

- Grow the client portfolio

- Continue to learn on sales being coached by our CEO

- Hire and manage an intern after a few months

Month 9 and sqq.

- Progressively hire and manage a sales team

- Hire and manage a customer success team

We study CVs with experience in sales or an equivalent field and consider tech-savvy profiles. You will be tested on your ability to propose a complex solution to a high-level representative.

We are open to consider young and motivated candidates.

Opening a new country is difficult and is a several-year journey, but we are willing to reward you according to your success.

Hiring process: Videoconference, physical appointment. Average timing is 2 weeks.

Your mission

* Get to be an expert on Lemon Learning

* Set up a lead machine and be responsible for the entire sales funnel in the UK

* Close new deals and drive rapid growth to establish Lemon Learning as the market leader in the UK

* Settle a brand in your region and implement ways to increase brand awareness

* Set up a sales team

* Set up a service team

* Manage the local website
