The Roles

The Design Engineer will work closely with the senior engineer to design and develop the plan and deliverables to deliver the fibre networks.

Duties

  • Lead all aspects of physical fibre planning, working with our Overground and Underground installation partners.
  • Ensuring production of As built diagrams
  • Specification of ODFs, cabinet, fibre optic splice enclosures
  • Overseeing splice and fibre testing regimes
  • Assist with contract development, assuming responsibility for technical aspects of large customer contracts
  • Develop drawings in AutoCAD/ Visio for Outside Plant Fibre Optic network design and construction

Role - Infrastructure Project Manager

Duration - 6 months

DESCRIPTION

The Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for the successful implementation of infrastructure projects from contract award to system commissioning and hand-over to service support; lead an implementation team comprising engineers with different technological and domain skills-set to ensure effective and efficient implementation of projects to meet contractual requirements. This includes effective stakeholders, internal project team, subcontractors/ vendors, time, budget, schedule and risk management to deliver on our commitments to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Effective stakeholder management to set the right expectations throughout the project.
  • Plan, coordinate and prepare implementation strategies to meet key project milestones such as delivery, tests and payment milestones.
  • Develop Project Management Plans including risk management plan to ensure effective project management.
  • Lead and manage project team members, subcontractors and vendors including RFX management and subcontractors/vendors selection and negotiation.
  • Oversee project team members to deliver project on schedule and cost while meeting project requirements.
  • Initiate, organise and attend project meetings and ensure project teams are kept fully informed about project progress, tasks, action plan and deadlines.
  • Anticipate, manage and resolve issues, risks, dependencies and impediments that may impact on successful project delivery.
  • Ensure that project progress is reported in an accurate and timely manner to all stakeholders and project teams.
  • Ensure that all projects and products are delivered with quality as a priority and that appropriate.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Computer / Telecommunication), Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent.
  • More than 5 years of project management experience in infrastructure projects
  • Experience in delivery of multiplatform technology-based IT projects comprising networking, applications, database, systems (OS), security (including policies, firewall, 2FA, encryption, CA, IPS/IDS), devices and device management is an advantage.
  • Customer oriented and a team player with the ability to effectively lead and motivate team member towards common objectives.
  • A self-starter and ability to work under pressure and tight schedule with positive and proactive attitude to anticipate challenges and resolves issues.
  • Strong competency and experience in managing and motivating multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project or other project management reporting tools.
  • Certifications in Project Management such as PMP and CITPM is preferred.
  • Effective communications and presentation skills, both written and oral

An enterprise organisation are seeking an experienced IT Network and Voice Infrastructure Manager to join their IT Operations team.

This is a varied role and as an IT Network and Voice Infrastructure Manager you will:

  • Be the primary point of contact for vendors/partners relating to Network and Voice Infrastructure
  • Lead the network technical design resource; project delivery manager & support teams
  • Attend change forums on behalf of network teams
  • Responsible for planning and Roadmap for Network & Voice, including refresh and enhancements of platforms in line with Enterprise Architectural standards
  • Act as an escalation point for MIM / L2-L4 Support, both internal and external
  • Define scope of third party contracts
  • Take inputs from Capacity Management, ensuring effective planning and execution of capacity upgrades
  • Responsible for implementation of Network & Voice Infrastructure, including technical debt remediation and ongoing enhancements
  • Manage patching & monitoring strategy and policy for network and voice
  • Responsible for operational stability of Infrastructure area, providing input to RCA with Problem Management, and accountable for remedial action
  • Accountable for efficiency / optimisation of Infrastructure area and third party contracts

The successful IT Network and Voice Infrastructure Manager will have:

  • Experienced working with business and technology stakeholders
  • Proven experience in leading Network and Voice Infrastructure functions, working within 24/7 IT operational environment, coordinating taking a lead role with at least 2 reports
  • Visibility of Software Development methodologies (Waterfall/Agile)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working as a senior technical expert in MPLS & Ethernet WAN technologies, Voice technologies and Cisco Meraki Wi-Fi
  • Experience working with outsource partners and delivering solutions into support
  • Proven experience in managing 3rd party WAN providers, delivering continuous service improvements and documentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with subordinates, colleagues, clients and customers at all levels
  • Extensive knowledge of analytical techniques, methods and problem solving skills
  • Comfortable working with senior staff within Business and IT
  • Awareness of Project Management methodologies (Prince 2, PMI, RUP, CMMi)
  • Sound Network Infrastructure design experience in a technology organisation with proof of delivering scalable, resilient Network & Voice Infrastructures
  • Experience of the regulatory and audit requirements within an operational environment
  • Take initiative to keep own skills up to date and maintain awareness of developments in the IT industry
  • ITIL version 3 Foundation (Minimum)

Highly desirable to have:

  • Security technologies experience
  • Checkpoint, McAfee and Riverbed experience
